The new animation and hand/arm models are fantastic
I've seen a few posts of them causing motion sickness or being clunky, but from the bit I've played so far since the update, I'm loving them. Thank you hinterland, truly. When I heard they were adding animations I was excited, but I really didn't expect them to actually add models for all hand/clothing options too. So far I've harvested bears, wolves, rabbits, moose, and deer using the hacksaw and knife. The animations for them look great in my opinion, though I haven't tried it with a hatchet or barehanded yet. Also as a side thing, something about holstering the rifle looks really nice now too.

That being said, does anyone else think we'll get any more animations, now that there's a framework for displaying hand models? Or do you think this is all we'll get? While I'd love animations for anything and everything, if Hinterland were to prioritize "essential" things to have animations for, I'd personally suggest ones for

- Lighting a fire (we do this all the time, and I think it'd add a lot to immersion)
- Harvesting wood (another thing we frequently do that would add to immersion)
- Fishing (with the overhaul to fishing, I feel like having an animation for setting our jig, and maybe for pulling up a caught fish on the line would cement fishing).

Animations I'd like, but don't exactly expect would be

- reading a book
- sharpening tools
- cleaning guns
- taking a sip from coffee/tea
- generic animation for repairs/sewing/crafting (probably just motioning your hands off screen while the proper sound plays for whatever it is you're repairing)

I don't expect we'll get animations for everything, but I'm excited for anything else they choose to animate. What about all of you? Anyone else excited about this addition? Also, do you think we'll get more animations? If so, what do you think we're likely to actually get?

I do love the hand coverings and sleeve ends being shown. I do mean *LOVE* it.

And I like the "closer-to-real-life" harvesting animations in terms of how they look (former long-time hunter and farmer IRL- so the blood and gore doesn't gross me out at all), however- I do not get motion-sick very easily. I never turn off the Sprain limp animation. But the new harvesting animations do actually make me a tad motion-sick on an ultra-wide PC monitor, and on a big screen TV when playing the game on XBox- the IRL head spin and nausea from the sharp movements and camera bobbing is bad.

I would prefer that HL give a separate toggle to tone down or turn off the camera movements for the new harvesting animations, or an option to use the old harvesting menu screen for people who are a bit grossed out by the new animations (I've seen a few comments about how skinning rabbits grosses a few people out, or how the bloody hands is a bit much for some people). I would not expect either or both options right away- but eventually. That way people can choose their level of comfort with what they are seeing int he game (like how some aRPGs and CRPGs allow you to turn off gore or attack FX if it's too much for you).
That way there would be less loss of players due to motion sickness or discomfort with the now-increased visual gore levels.

Yeah, I'm a hunter and rancher IRL, and so the bloody aspect of the animations sit just fine by me. When I read about people being grossed out by the rabbits, I was expecting something more grizzly. But yeah, I think toggles are always a good thing in games, so I'm sure it'll eventually get added for motion-sickness, or for people who are grossed out by the blood. Personally, I like the fact that it's more realistic, but I get how people not used to it might find it off-putting :rabbitTLD:

Bare hands were always an immersion-breaker for me - all the time, every time. This is a massive improvement from an immersion standpoint.

I think the hand coverings are great but I don't like how the rifles are held now.

1. displaying hand models?
It was already made in the mod

2.Corpse Harvest Animation?
After harvesting corpses hundreds of times, I got motion sick and had to play the game with my eyes closed.

3. Due to the harvest animation, it seems like the game needs to be changed to allow ages 19 and older to play. Anyone is welcome to submit a complaint during a public period.
