skeeters ridge basement was the worst place so far.
It's a conundrum to make Nomad a more engaging challenge whilst keeping it beginner-friendly. Perhaps to have fewer shelters on the checklist but in more spaced out locations to accommodate new regions? Sort of like a peaceful version of Escape the Darkwalker.
Good luck with the Hunted! Yes, it is certainly a lot more tense :)
You know, this begs the question, what is a beginner? If you hadn't done any runs, this challenge would be absurd, to the point of almost being an all encompassing challenge. Why, because you don't know where anything is, and unless you look up a map online this could take forever to do.
I really think if they want it to be truly beginner friendly then make it purely pilgrim. That way they don't have to deal with wolves, bears, moose, and timberwolves. If they want to make it novice, then make it voyager or higher, expert - loper difficulty. Hinterland would then have 3 challenges for the price of one, and they could tweak the amount of time spent at each and possibly include more areas. But what do I know, I am still trying to get achievements and run all these challenges. To me, this challenge is boring (and time consuming). The only hard part was keeping a fire going in the stone church so the 3 blizzards in 3 days didn't kill me. I just want the all these bonuses for a new character for a long run.
