14 days remaining, went through most of Coastal Highway, Mystery Lake and Desolation Point.

Currently at the farm in Pleasant valley and have pretty much everything minus THE RIFLE. I'm surprised that I didn't stumble on one at all.

Maybe I just didn't see it? I don't know, I went to fluffy's cave and didn't see the hunter's corpse... maybe I DID miss the rifle?

I know I still have plenty of time, but all the commuting between regions is eating a lot of days, i'm starting to feel that I am running out of time...

It appears that while you CAN leave coastal highway, you aren't REQUIRED to.

Completed in 20 days instead of much, much earlier due to traveling through ML, DP and PV.

Where did you eventually found your rifle ? Spawn spots may have changed

Took me almost a month to find a rifle after the last update. In other runs I've found 4 or more rifles. Only one revolver as well. Makes the game quite a bit harder, especially if you thought you knew all the spawn points. Meanwhile, practice fishing.

It was at Bear Creek Campground right there in Costal Highway.

I'm having the same struggles. I have everything except for the rifle. Bin trough ML, PV, DP, the dam, Forlone... 10 days left. Still hoping to find it somewhere totally random.

My advice, return to Costal Highway and go through all the main sites methodically, I'm 99% sure that it can only spawn in here.

In fact I now believe that you're not "supposed" to leave CH unless you "want" to.

Holy moly I just made it with 1 day and 14 hours on the clock remaining. The rifle was under the bridge at the Tooth in CH, the last place I did not take a look at

Well done :)...I can't see making that goal without a rifle and staying at the Coast. I ran to MT and stocked up and found the rifle there.

Damn, then I don't know anymore, that's kinda harsh and random of you can find it within the first day or not :/

I'm on day 20 and can confirm that the rifle is hard to find. No success yet. The old rifle locations are definitely outdated - I searched (nearly) all old rifle locations in Coastal Highway, Mystery Lake, Desolation Point, and Broken Railroad (the hunting lodge was my first guess but that didn't turn out to be a success). Even the old guaranteed rifle locations are moot.

Now after searching all of Coastal Highway again I begin to feel frustrated. I thought this was supposed to be one of the easier challenges. And staying alive plus collecting all other resources was manageable.. just the rifle is missing. *sigh*.. annoying that I already found every other weapon in the game but the goal is only met with a rifle :/

Update: found it on day 21 on Jackrabbit Island next to a corpse - on the last part of the island towards misanthrope's homestead. I'm pretty sure I passed by this particular spot many times before and it was difficult to miss (crows). I wonder if the rifle just spawns late? Anyway, I'm happy now :)

I found mine after nearly two months searching in Mystery Lake, Coastal Highway, Milton, and Forlorn Muskeg in the Broken Railroad hunting lodge on my way to Forsaken Airfield . Great joy that was.
