Name a movie that has that The Long Dark vibe... GO!
Doesn't have to be a good movie. As long as it captures a similar vibe.

I will start. Just discovered Hold the Dark on Netflix. The setting, sound effects, pace and details really remind me of the game.

The Grey, of course.

The Road (and its source novel by Cormac McCarthy). Both it and TLD encapsulate human survival on the brink of post-apocalyptic worlds, themselves in a slow process of becoming harsher, colder and less filled with life. I'm almost certain the devs took inspiration from the novel, it's a powerful read.

Also, both The Road and TLD feature canned peaches.

The Edge - 1997 Anthony Hopkins & Alec Baldwin, plane goes down in the Alaskan wilderness, they're hunted by a hungry Kodiak bear.

Oh, that's a good one, and really does seem very similar to the Hunted Parts 1 & 2, and the "Demon" bear in Wintermute episode 2.

I Am Legend graphic novel due to the solitary nature of the protagonist, and SPOILERS

how the protagonist is the "boogeyman" for the "monsters". Think of the mayhem your TLD Survival mode (especially Loper) character inflicts, as ONE person, on every other living thing on GBI.

Rose hips and reishi picked clean like locusts did it
File cabinets full to capacity with rabbit hides and cured guts
Systematic and scheduled annihilation of moose and bear
Wolves killed because of their limited threat and left rotting because their pelts and meat "aren't worth it".

You may now go and feel guilty.

The bear attack clearly comes from the revenant.
And the movie Everest can remind your journey through Mont Timberwolf. Even though they're working as a team rather than being alone...

The gold rush (1925) when they're trapped in a cabin (fever) during a blizzard.

The Mountain Between Us (2017) with Kate Winslet and Idris Elba.
Beautiful movie where they suffer from the cold, the wild, and hunger !
And it starts with a plane crash in the mountain !

Any film version of "To Build a Fire" by Farley Mowat and you have less than 100% fire making skill.

Runaway Train, 1985. Kind of a stretch but it's cold and about survival, plus a great film.

Never Cry Wolf (1983) and The Snow Walker (2003) (aka an earlier Mountain Between Us (and dare I say more earnest (yo, not a dig or anything but really)), both based on the books by the aforementioned Farley Mowat – for the wolves (and lots of other northern wildlife), plane crash and survival in the North. And not least – for the re-connecting with the Mother Nature aspect in both of them.

Also not quite a standalone movie but for the sheer solitaire experience – Survivorman series with Les Stroud.
