There is something in a crate in the plane on Timberwolf Mountain

The original crash site (the place you start in Wintermute) should have some loot inside their green crates. I've only seen this on Survival Mode, not Wintermute.

Sometimes, yeah. I mean there's Reclaimed Wood everytime, but that's fairly obvious haha. As with just about everything, it's random whether or not you'll find stuff in them. Sometimes they're like a treasure chest, and other times you just get some Reclaimed Wood. I've found mostly Accelerants and other small loot itmes like that. The Crates in the Timberwolf Mountain Plane part areas often have some dang fine loot in them. Especially the metal ones, but the green crates have given me some much needed loot for surviving up there.

Make sure you break those crates in the barn at the Spence Farm site in FM.

Sometimes inside the crates, sometimes behind them. Often, nothing. Occasionally (depending on what you need most at the time), some really cool stuff. But, as with any lottery ticket, don't spend money (tool condition and time) you cannot afford to lose.

I'm assuming it's random spawns like everything else. The only problem is you could be wasting your time if you don't need firewood.

Can, not should. I was there two times (both on interloper). One time found treasure - combat pants. Another time - nothing.

I never got the sense it was random at all, but speaking from Interloper experience since my time in the game before that was a bunch of short runs lol and then a nice long Voyager run where of course I only broke any particular crate down once.

But in all my Loper runs, I have never found random loot in any green crates, except for two spots where I always found loot. TWM Tail Section and The Skeg's Spence.

Dam? Nope. PV Basement or Barn? Nope. Crates just inside the door of a any mine? Nope.

Hibernia, the War and Peace of crate busting? Nope. Riken? Nope.

Now I'll admit I've been more selective about outdoor crates like the new Dam overhaul, so one of those might be a hotspot.

I really don't remember sincerely, finding much of anything in all the green crate busting I did on my Voyager run, and that was a lot of crates.

Has anyone tried busting all the new crates outside of the Dam and Hibernia? jswilliams that is a challenge if you haven't. And please try it on all levels and report. :)

Ummm...wow. Actually now that I think about it outside the Dam is mostly pallets, not crates. No idea when I'll get back there though.

seems like those would be hand placed. i know on wintermute at the cave and plane crash first area there are things in them. i hardly ever find anything in them actually can not place when i have except the crash site. there not quite open area or container loot so thats why i think they are placed there. i bust them up if i need wood badly and there there they also do not need a tool to do so so new game friendly but does take time and calories.

Just found a rifle and some other stuff behind a crate in the whaling factory in Desolation Point :) (I imagine there are crates where you are far more likely to find stuff inside but not always).

The dog food at Spence is behind the crate, not in it. You do not need to bust the crate to get to it.

Add the Maintenance Yard to your list, there is a crate with loot under/inside (Loper verified).
