Audio out of sync
I have set my framerate to variable and have verified my game files, but cutscene audio is still out of sync for me. Any solutions?

Tron, I found something that may help you if you still haven't given up on the game or bought a better pc. Try the FPS fix on this website, under Essential Improvements: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Resident_Evil_HD_Remaster

You can also utilize the other two fixes there. I have a crappy Pentium Dual-Core 3ghz and I didn't have much hopes that the game will run fine. However, after testing it with a pirate copy and running it on 30fps everything was fine exept the audio out-of-sync issue. The FPS fix .dll file seems to work because the audio did not lag at the intro cutscene after putting the .dll in the game folder. Before that the lag was unavoidable.
Other users on the download forum for the file experienced positive results and the .dll should be save to use according to those who ran a virus/malware check. I hope it works for you too.

Now, I think I'll definitely buy the game at some point in the future.

You can check out my REHDHook project as well, others have reported with the fps fixes in my project, it fixes audio desync too:

The fixes in my project are the same as the ones in the other lag fix project.

Nope. I tried all these fixes and none of them worked. I might just demand a refund.

In the fix NecromancerSlayer provided there is a ini file. Open that file and lower the resolution which is by default 1280x960, see if that helps. If it doesn't then it is either the game using your Intel chipset or your GPU is not enough. A recent user just fixed his audio desync with this fix on his GT 430
