Resident Evil HD Remaster Bug Reporting Thread
Hey Resident Evil Fans,

We hope you’re all enjoying Resident Evil HD Remaster! While we hope all of our fans will have a great time with the game, there will always be some cases here and there where the game may not function correctly under certain environments and / or hardware combinations. That said, we’ve set up this feedback thread for you all to share any technical issues you may be having with the game. We’ll use this thread as a central repository for tracking these problems, and pass on the information gathered here to the development team so they can investigate.

Before providing reporting further, please ensure you've followed the steps below to rule out problems with Steam or the game’s files:

Ensure game files are intact using Verify Game Cache
1) From your Steam Library list, right-click on Resident Evil / biohazard HD REMASTER and select Properties.
2) Click the LOCAL FILES tab.
3) Click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..." and allow the validation process to run its course. Please disable or shutdown your anti-virus while this process runs.

This process allows the Steam client to scan every single file you downloaded for this game, verify checksum of each, and compare that against the file manifest data on Steam's content server. If the file is missing or has a different checksum value, you will receive a message stating "X files failed to validate and will be reacquired." What this means is that some files have either been deleted, or may have been corrupted. Click “Close,” and Steam will automatically download and / or replace the problem files.

Reinstalling your video card drivers
We also recommend making sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. Some high end integrated graphics chips and modern laptop class discrete GPUs may work but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom.

AMD Drivers[support.amd.com]
NVIDIA Drivers[www.nvidia.com]

If you still experience crash issues, you may want to try performing a clean installation of the driver set. This will remove any extraneous driver DLL files or game profiles that existed with the previous driver installation.

Important! Lastly, please don't forget to reboot Windows upon completing the driver installation. This will help reinitialize the driver and the graphics card using the new driver.

Reporting crashes
If you still experience poor framerate, “slow motion” effects, crashes, or other issues, please help the dev team by providing detailed information below.

The more samples and data points we receive, the better we are able to narrow down and determine the root cause of these problems. Here’s what we need:

A) Your System Specs
1) CPU name & model
2) Name / model of the desktop or laptop (if available)
3) Graphics card / chip model and the amount of VRAM
4) Video driver version number
5) System memory size
6) OS version (Windows 7, 8, 64-bit/32-bit, etc.)
7) Anti-virus software name and version

A good deal of this information, such as the graphics card model and VRAM, are available by running a DxDiag report. For more information on how to run this report, click here[www.fuzeqna.com].

B) Specific issue
Please share your specific issue and the location(s) where you’re experiencing the issues – for example, if you’re having problems with the framerate, is it happening constantly, or is it during certain cutscenes, during gameplay, etc.
If the game is crashing, it would be super useful if you can share your app crash log file via downloadable link using any one of the popular file hosting services such as DropBox, GoogleDrive, OneDrive, etc.

C) Detailed reproduction steps, if consistently reproducible
This step particularly is very useful for the development team. The more detailed info you can provide, the quicker the team can reproduce the error state and (hopefully) fix the issue.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Please note that this thread is only for posting issues with the game and specifications; in the interest of helping the development team better investigate these issues, any extraneous discussion or derailment may be removed.

Had to set shadow quality low, otherwise the game runs VERY slowly... cutscenes lagged and out of sync, either (no matter how the FPS settings).

Hello Capcom.

1) Intel Core i3-370m, 2.4 GHz (4 CPUs).
2) Sony Vayo VPCEB3D4R.
3) ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650, VRAM-1GB.
4) Video driver version: 8.723.8.2000, WDDM 1.1.
5) RAM 3GB.
6) OS version: Windows 7 (64-bit).
7) Anti-virus: OFF in game.

Out of synch audio and video cut-scenes and movies. Low frame rate in the game, from 12-25 FPS.
The settings in the game (at different graphics settings the problem remains):
Screen resolution-1360x768.
Vertical sync-ON.
Shadows-Low.
Texture-High.
Frame rate-Variable.
AA-OFF.

If you simply make skip frames in the game, are any problems with a frame rate will disappear at all.

Goodbye. I hope you in the coming days to make a patch for the game.

Slow Motion Effects no matter what options are set to. Also have issues with Audio and Visual Sync. Also the Subtitles do not match the audio. ~ 1 to 2 second delay. Fram rate drops when entering animation/video

Possible achievement bug with the "Herbicide" achievement. I just defeated the required boss as Chris, and it doesn't show unlocked on my profile.

My biggest annoyance is that the mouse cursor is always on-screen. It doesn't disappear after a bit. Is there a fix for this besides a third-party program?

Having slow motion only during gameplay no matter the settings, 30 fps makes it run somewhat smoother,,, but menus and everything else runs perfectly my computer should destroy this game i can play re4 and up smoothly i should have no trouble running this and i have played way more taxing games

My only problem is slow motion gameplay and scenes(not cinematic ones, in-game graphic scenes), even in the low settings it doesn't change. If I choose 60fps option game becomes more slower. Variable and 30 fps options are same.

Opening cut scene is fine until the doors and thereafter. The voval overdub goes out of sync then the game is running the commonly described slow-motion manner. It's unplayable with any combinations between game and card settings, though some changes make it slightly smoother than others. Haven't gone beyond saving in the dining hall do to this.

Everytime I watch/skip the intro scene when starting the game, it crashes. After that, the game closes and a box pops up. It states, "Fatal Error: ERR09 Unsupported Function."

SERIOUS LAG!!

I played this morning to test it, and everything went fine. Now that I'm back home and starting from scratch, I'm having SERIOUS lag issues. I'm pretty sure my PC is up to the task of running this game even at 60fps, even though I rather run it at 30 for a more "cinematic" or classic effect. Tried lowering everything. Problem still persists. Usually happens during cutscenes, when entering a new room or after checking the inventory and can last up to 6 to 7 seconds. Can't play this game as it is. RE4 Ultimate HD had a very similar problem but not as bad as with this game.

3) Radeon 4870 512mb / Radeon 4850 512mb using crossfire
4) Driver version: 8.97.100.11-130429a-158498C-ATI / Catalyst version: 13.9 / Direct 3D version: 7.14.10.0911
5) 8gb of RAM DDR2 @1066mhz
6) Windows 7 64-bit
7) Anti-virus: None

B) Specific issue
Game slows down to 2fps randomly and constantly only during gameplay.

C) Detailed reproduction steps, if consistently reproducible
Started the game as Jill and everything went fine, as soon as I could control her it was at 2fps, grabbed the ink ribbon on the table and then the game was normal at more than 50fps. Aproached chris and the cutscene played fine, back controlling Jill and was at 2fps again, walked towards the typewriter and when the camera changed the game was back normal. In another playthrough I loaded a save from the dining room, the game was normal, grabbed the emblem at the fireplace and walked to the clock, opened the map and closed it and the game was at 2fps again.
