killing hunters

I would like to hear how you kill these hunters. I am in securation witch i have spent alot of shotgun ammo on them. I have encounter these hunters after killing plant 42. What is the best way to kill them with out wasting not to much ammo. I would like to hear how you kill them through easy to hard difficulty through out your time in RE1?

Use the shotgun or grenade launcher, or avoid them altogether. The only ones you'll ever need to kill are the ones hanging out by the stairwell save rooms since they can catch up to you when climbing up the stairs. They do not have a grab attack like the zombies, so you can literally just run past them.

i prefer running away from them unless they in the way but if there is more than 1 in the room RUN as the otherone will come after you while you attack the one

best example is when you enter the mansion and you enter the door with the broken handle that barry/wesker fixed

you can outrun him into the save room when you come out kill him quick before the other one jumps down


most of the times i run otherwise 2 shotgun shells using the assult shotgun. or 1 to sometimes 2 shots with the magnum although i save those for last and emergencies only

just magnum them. there isn't that many of them. and you'll still find you have plenty of rounds left. even on hard mode.
the end of the game is a bit of a joke. the shotgun is more than capable, save shells for this point.

shotgun is helpful given you dont waste ammo on zombies with it

Magnum them. You'll get extra rounds nearer the end of the gme, for the end of the game. 1-2 shots per Hunter means you should have enough Magun ammo by this poiint to take out all the hunters you absolutely need to take out.

Magnum seems to be the best beat. You can kill them in one shot. In addition, you can sometimes shot two with one bullet. For example, outside the saferoom when you come back to the mansion. Once you come though the door leading to the safe room you directly run towards the staircase even though you can not see them. Do a 180, the hunter near the staircase wtth generally approach you. In additon, the one on the second floor will jump down behind the other hunter aim, then boom. If you have to shoot again, then wait till both get up and repeat.

2 shotgun shots or 2 grenade shots or 1 acid grenade shot or 1 magnum shot = dead hunter
