Stuck--full inventory
So I've got the pistol, pistol ammo, ribbon, shotgun ammo, knife, and blue jewel from breaking the statue. I cannot get more space and cannot find a way to put back anything. Therefore I cannot get any puzzle items to proceed to a chest. Stuck?

There's an inventory chest in the east side of the mansion, ground floor.
You can leave any items you don't need in there and pick them up from any other chest in the game.

Yeah I've played the original back on the PS, so I have a basic idea of where they were. But I have no room for the key or the arrow. It just kinda silly that you can get stuck like this, but at least its early on.

Rule number 1: You can't be stuck. As in literally... you can't
Just go deposit some sh*t in a Chest...

I think what he means is all the doors are still locked and he has yet to grab the the first key.

The only fix I can think of is using all the ribbons until they 'poof'

Thanks salty, you understand. I think you're right. I'll just restart and keep spots open.

Yeah that may be possible... I think it happened to me when I started my Chris playthrough last sunday. Thankfully since I had played the game twice before I was able to redo it in about 5 minutes if I recall correctly. Thankfully that can't happen again once you have access to the chests.

This is one game that can force you restart half way through if you're not careful enough.
Alright, turn out i was wrong. Here i was able to reproduce the worst case scenario with Chris before picking up the "Arrow" item (which will eventually unlock the safe rooms). And without even messing with the Wooden Emblem which you can put it back.

This is difficulty number I (easiest) in which the game gives you 6 ink Ribbons for a single
"pick up" action ( i pick up the one in the dinning room).

There are 2 handgun clips avaiable before picking up the Arrow item. So the player in this situation would have to either waste all 6 ink ribbons or at least 15 handgun bullets to free 1 slot.

Fascinating.

You're still unable to genuinely lock progression... Wasting items in your inventory counts as well... waste. It's just bad resource management. But that still doesn't count as progression lock. As I said before... It's literally impossible to get stuck...

Of course. But for a new Resident Evil player, it would be quite the abnormal experience. Especially if he chooses to save the game 6 times lol

Thank goodness you can use a lone blue herb when your not poisoned otherwise I would have had to waste ammo at the part where you need the flamethrower to proceed.

There is a chest in that area. The point is getting full (without health itens) before picking up the arrow item. Which is obligatory to reach any chest.

One thing I do is that i almost never keep ribbons on me. Typewriters are almost always in the same room

It's not bad inventory management if you're unable to manage your inventory. I'm in the same spot, and it boggles the mind that they would design an area so you're forced to waste items if you don't know the correct order to pick them up in.

It doesn't count as progression lock, just poor game design. Back to the start for me I guess...
