Is true survivor harder than hard mode?
I'm just wondering if it is.

I'm playing true survivor as Chris right now and it seems so easy to me.

Didn't play hard mode yet.

Hard mode has one thing which isn't in real survival: That one door in the east wing with the failing door knob (after going through two times).

Also, hard mode can be "augmented" by "one dangerous zombie" or "invisible enemy" (not both).

About the difficulties as such: After you have played the game once on normal, the game is easy even on the higher difficulties. That's why you should set challenges for yourself, e.g.: No magnum, no defense items, no burning of zombies, no use of item boxes, no saves etc.

I usually do speedruns in real survival mode, best ending. This way, I'd play like it's a knife only run until the crimson head elder, and then later on only use the assault shotgun. I also don't save, automatically don't burn zombies too, and use the item box as little as possible. In this format, I use defense items, though (e.g. as Chris to kill the elder crimson head).

Yeah I was happily suprised about the door knob.

I guess there is only small differences between hard and true survivor then.

Thanks for the info.

you can easily appraoch the survival mode, you only need to store your items in one box in the mansion, leave some health items and one ink ribbon in the other.
For the residence and courtyard basement you barely need any weapons as there are minimal enemies and you can run past them.
The only annoying thing is that once you reach the lab, you'll need to backtrack your way to the mansion to bring back your items. Better play it with Jill.

Real survival also has only Rank 6 zombies IIRC, so they come back as crimsons the fastest. Very hard mode should still have some Rank 5 ones near the start.

It's pretty much hard mode without storage being linked, It's why most prefer to use Chris for the extra HP.

Do they? For Chris needs better item management. You're right, though, that it's ALOT easier to die with Jill.

Jill is harder than Chris for me personally.

Depends on playing style. Chris has 440 more HP, sure, but he actually takes around +10% damage from every monster. His hitbox is also noticeably larger. Then again, also his reach.

Still, in the end, he does not have the grenade launcher while Jill has, and that thing has been ridiculous in all early games.
