How strong is the Self Defense Weapon?

No, im asking about the Literally called self defense weapon (atleast in german lol)
Its a Small pistol that holds 2 22.Magnum rounds, with one already beeing fired

And Id like to know how much damage it deals compared to Pistol/Shotgun/Magnum/Grenade Launcher, since its a whole inventory slot for 1 shot

I see. I found this post from a Resident Evil Wiki mod

The self defense gun normally deals 9999 damage against enemies, making it on par with Barry's as the most powerful handguns in the game. HOWEVER, it's programmed to be incapable of doing that much damage against the Super Tyrant to prevent people beating the boss so easily.

I can confirm it is not too useful against plant 42.
Maybe you can use it to kill a hunter, but that is it.

I wonder if you can drop Lisa with it, but I never tried.

Yeah, I just made a Playthrough and wondered myself how much of a punch that small boi, I didnt needed it for Plant 42, since when im playing chris I drop it with the Pistol, works pretty well. So 28 12 gauge shells should be enough for all the hunters

It is good to kill the most problematic Hunter. Usually the one near the east wing 1F save room, since you can ditch the gun right afterwards.

One-shot versus any common enemy, IIRC. So yeah, it's a good weapon to get rid of a hunter in a pinch, not worth saving for a boss since it won't work on any unique-type enemies like that.
