Are Jill and Chris totally different campaigns?
Is it the same campaign but with a different character, or is there a significant narrative difference that sets them apart, perhaps even maps for one person but not the other.

I have this game backlogged and I need to know if it's worth investing time on doing both, or if I can get away with doing just the one.

They both have similiar campaigns but at certain points they play out a bit different, mainly meeting different characters and some scenarios playing out differently because Chris doesn't knows how to mix chemicals for example while Jill does. Overall the story is the same but to get the complete story you'd have to play through both campaigns.

Chris can take more damage while Jill can carry more items. Generally Chris's campaign is harder.

Cool. I strongly suspect I'll be rubbish at this game, so I'll pretty much be imitating a walkthrough on YouTube. And I'll start with Jill, if that's easier. If I finish it, maybe I can do the other one as well.

But takes longer. I'm not here for fun. I'm here to finish my backlog as quickly as humanly possible. I've wasted enough time on "fun" and it's caused my backlog to swell to unhealthy levels because I neglected games I didn't really want to play.

But my general gaming behavior isn't up for debate, so this doesn't matter.

Not to tell you what to do, but you are missing the point of playing games in general. Why not just watch the YouTube video and be done? What's the point in copying what someone else does? This game is great because it's a lot trial and error, surprises and figuring out what to do all by yourself.

You should just skip it altogether as you are going to miss the point of even playing it.

I'm a huge Resident Evil fan. Been playing since you could win a spot in the movie directed by George A. Romero that never got made. I still refer to guides and walkthroughs at certain points. Sure I don't follow them exactly, but they're nice when you don't remember exactly where to go or what to do and you don't want to run around and accidentallly get bit by zombies. Especially that damn Crimson Head in that room with the mirrors.

It is. Games cost money. I worked for that money. Games that are bought but unplayed are literally wasted money. So going through all of those and getting my minimal money's worth out of each of them is kind of like saving money, wouldn't you say? It's better than just buying a new one and wasting more money...

Nah, you forget that your free time is also worth something. Free time which is sparse. Ever heard of a "stop loss order"? At one point you decide to take the loss to avoid even bigger loss. If you bought a game AND invest time in it, your investment in the game actually goes up even further than if you only bought it. So the investment is only worth it if you get enough fun out of it to compensate. If playing a game you bought feels like work to you, you should stop loss and use your time for something else.
As I have stated several times before, I think I'm perfectly capable of deciding how I wish to spend my own time.

I didn't come here to argue. I got my answer, so I'll unsubscribe from this thread now. Have fun arguing with yourself from here on out.

This thread makes me sick and sad.
Why the living hell would you even build a "backlog" of games you are not planning to PLAY and ENJOY??

"Capable of deciding how I wish to spend my own time"? Clearly such person should not be allowed to even handle money by himself!

No, you aren't getting your money out of it if you aren't enjoying it...Flawed logic. Now your impulse buy will cost you more, It will cost you time that you are doing something un-enjoyable, and more money in the form of electricity
