And no, Crimson Heads can't infect other zombies thankfully.
No temas, poco a poso se le pierde el miedo.
2) No. Any others will, once you finish the residence and come back.
3) Nope.
you walk past him with the dog collar/fake key in your inventory.
or you try to burn him.
both cases he wakes up. otherwise he stays on the floor.
no the boss one doesnt count as thats the prototype.
he also doesnt disappear. he remains in that hallway for the rest of the game normally. he will be found inside the mirror hall. if you try to go back the way you came (trough the door you could unlock from the stairs with the saveroom) he will come at you and its not super easy to avoid him but also not super hard. there is no reason to kill or fight him thankfully. especially on hard he is just a waste of ammo and time.
you can also just go the bit longer way trough the crow room and to kenneths corridor if you want to avoid him completly as he cannot go trough that door at all (that room is off limits for zombies dont know why).
crimson heads are actually just as easy to bring down as normal zombies. you just have less reaction time and they do far more dmg especially on hard. but a well placed shotgun blast to thier heads and thier head comes clean off just like normal ones.
oh and once a crimson is dead dont burn it. waste of fuel. he disappears for good after his second dead no matter what.
in generel most zombie corpeses dont become crimsons until a certain amount of real time has passed. this timer depends on difficulty aswell. on hard it can be as fast as 5 minutes while on easy it takes over 30 minutes for them to resurrect.
as a generel rule of thumb if you wanna play it safe i recommenced removeing all the zombies near the 2 saverooms basicly (only in the rooms that connect to the saferoom) and the ones inside the U corridor where the knight room is as youll go trough that corridor quite a few times to prevent going trough that stupid broken door too often.
all other zombies are best left alone. just dodge em.
And I can pretty much tell that I am afraid of what I don't know, cannot stop beforehand. Which made me quit the game instantly.
Also I recommend to kill dogs instantly since they don't respawn and if you cannot dodge them they hit pretty hard
Hope this thread will help other people who had some problems about crimsons. Thanks everybody to answer!
so dogs are actually quite rare enemys. there is way more hunters than dogs. the dogs in the infamous corrdidor can be fully avoided with both characters on all difficultys.
that beeing said : you should always play normal mode unless its a no save or knife only run as you can only get the bonus weapons on normal mode to begin with. there is plenty of ammo to be found in normal especially on jills game there is so many grenades you could floor every zombie in the entire game 2 times with them alone not even counting the shotgun or handgun ammo.
also unlike zero (and this is the big reason (outside of no bonus weapons) why zero is considered hard on HARD XD) you basicly avoid ALL boss encounters completly saveing a buttload of ammo and resources except for yawn in the libary and the 1st tyrant in the lab. while on zero you MUST kill every boss and they are total sponges on hard there.
I wonder, do Barry leave ammo and first aid sprays on Normal/Hard modes also?
Edit: and also acid shells? Dunno, It's been awhile since I passed that part
They can and will turn other zombies into Crimsons, the one that is naturally a crimson head in the double mirror room showed me this as when I was dodging it and the 2 zombies in the there, both times going through the Crimson rushed and killed the other zombies, meaning they're now on the floor mutating and will become Crimsons in a few more doors.
Granted, they don't exactly do some Las Plagas **** and force the zombies into Crimsons on the spot, but they indirectly create more Crimson heads as they're actively hunting and killing zombies that are between you and them. Maybe they attack and kill other types of enemies too, but I'm not sure if you can get zombies amongst other enemies to test it out. The hunters when they emerge replace (probably kill in the lore) all other enemies in the rooms they take over.
It's a very hard mechanic to witness directly as it is rare for those kind of situations to arise unless you're a super dodger player (I think most people probably kill and burn or shotgun decap zombies), but it certainly happens. Nemesis, Hunters and Crimsons are the only enemies (I think) that actively hunt and kill other enemies in the series, though there might be others. Crimson's just happen to be in a game with a mechanic that indirectly causes more of their kind to arise.
