You can also use bestdanis (thekadani on steam) attachment tools (very easy to use), to attach a 3D model to anything in NL2.
There are some sites which offering free photoscanned people, some are rigged, so you can move them in a desired sitting pose.
At least i recommand blender so you can load and export 3D models as dae or gltf format, to import it into NL2.
NL2 does not support "bones" or "rigged" models.
If you want to move the arms (as example), you need to keyframe the moving pose in blender and if you export to gltf, the keyframes will be baked out in a keyframe format NL2 will support (checkmark the "bake actions option!"in blenders export options for gltf).
I
think you could start and stop the moving arms by using (also bestdani´s) "triggered animations". You set trigger on the track, name the trigger in NL2. The trigger will "tell" the moving_arms_animation, when to start the animation, via script =)
I hope this was helpful. It requires a bit of error and trying if you are new to this type of stuff but with a bit of patience you will get there and you are then be able to do other awwsome stuff, too :D.
Link to some superb and very great stuff:
