MEGATHREAD: jselby's Unofficial Map Editor
This topic is about my OSS unofficial editor, not the recently released official one. Issues with that one should be redirected to the "Report a Problem" subforum (found here), or general questions in the appropriate forum group. I'll try to answer anything I can though.

Due to the repeated spam of questions / issues with my map editor in other peoples threads, this is a place for people to sort out their problems.

Hello, How to move the zone ? That is , for example, how to move the roll ?
Might actually try this, unless prison editor comes within a month or so I might start building prisons with this. Have done some testing with it and it's really good.

78 is the id for the deliveries truck, I think 53 is the roof searchlight, also how do I place the unsigned id papers!?
Unsigned ID papers are hard coded, I believe.

Change the numbers on the side box after clicking on it, while Edit Zones is checked.

DARNIT! Also are the stun rods from Irongate hardcoded, and how do I get the jeep to spawn?
I'm assuming most of the map specific features are hardcoded. I would have no clue on that front.

K thanks. Hey would it be too much work for you to change how the zone editing works? Maybe change it to click and drag to change the size and area.

That would mean I would have to change the internal renderer, which is low priority at the moment, as it "Just Works (TM)". Don't worry, its coming.

I have a weird bug on my map (Modification of Jungle Compound) when I cross a sort of "lines" I've got 99 of heat out of nowhere, and I was in the safezone. Any ideas what could cause that ?

They are zones. Press Edit Zones, and make sure the area is covered with a Safe1 or Safe2... etc. Sometimes you cannot see them properly due to their random colors - restart the program if that happens.

Zones do have to overlap.

Got some ID's :

60 are searching lights on the roof (they only appear at night).
99 is start of the zipline, going down.
100 same, but going to the right.
I believe 101 and 77 are the two other going to the left and up (I didn't tried those one yet).

It could potentially be a side effect of your base map (jungle, I guess), and its hardcoded values. Other then that, your zones need to overlap a bit more, and they also have to cover fences as well.

Excellent job on this editor, really impressed.

The outer boundaries of prison zones are hard coded in the game engine right now (that's areas deemed 'outside' of the prison where you will get shot') so that might be causing issues. I'm getting all of this switched to the map files though so pretty soon it should be fine.

Wait on my map it crashes whenever a fight starts might be because of the inmate AI because I'm amking a space map and there is a LOT of black tiles that you can't walk on so I was wondering if that was the cause.

You would be fairly close on that one (AI, that is). If the black areas are inaccessible (walls), as it is like in vanilla maps, the black tiles /shouldn't/ be the issue. Make sure zoning is complete, and they have correct waypoints around the map.

Thanks! I jumped the gun with the map editor, as obviously the format is still a work in progress, so sorry about that. Really good job with the game though - loving it.

I have made a prison, but none of the walls work correctly. When destroying them, the health doesn't show, and once they are destroyed and you cannot fill it in. It stays like this until it is found and you are sent to solitary.
