Unable to traverse unstable warp points.
I am playing my first game with the Psilon and on turn 384. I am pretty advanced and have had the multistate insulator for a long time. I still cannot figure out how to traverse the unstable warp points. When googling it I see others have had the same problem. Any suggestions to use these warp points?

choose a ship and klick on the other side of the lane.

If you mean wormholes,
there is at the bottom a symbol for travel through
when you select the ship

Not wormholes, unstable star lanes. Everytime I try to click across it tells me I need the multistate insulator. I have had that for about 100 turns and I am not sure what to click to get across. The MI is installed automatically right?

The Multistate Insulator is automatic when you research it. Are you 100% sure you have it?
Click on the text you get when you try to cross the Warp point. It say you need the MI. It will show you the research you have, and if you have it.

Please note, you need several previous techs researched in order to get this one. Even if you are far beyond.

Unless your game is bugged, it sounds like you still need this tech, and you see you have more advanced techs.

Seeing as the psilons get all tech options from their research, never having to choose perhaps he is using some mod that is causing trouble? If he is using stock psilons, that is. I am pretty sure that that is not one of the optional techs anyway, it would be game breaking if a race couldn't get it. There is no trick to using it, once you have it they just become regular starlanes though they still show a red path.

@Krunn, I researched Electromagnic Refraction a while back, which it shows under. I am getting into warp fields Postronics now. The box with the insulator is that brown color that shows complete, right?

@bilbous, this is my first game of conqure the stars. No mods.


@VengeSunsoar, I found a few other forums with this problem but no solutions. I started a new game on a globular galaxy but that has the unstable warp points too. I have not become motivated yet to put in the hours see if the bug happens again.

I am going to write the developers and see if they know what is going on or what I am missing.

Just happened to me again. I've had multistate insulator for about 10 turns now. Can't cross the unstable warp points. Thought I might have missed upgrading my ships but there is no option to put it on the ship (don't know if there ever was, never looked before).

Obviously still a bug because it's happened to me. And yes I do have the technology, and no I don't have any mods installed; so I'm saying that this is probably a bug.

The Unofficial Code Patch mod probably fixes it.

Got everything researched, all ships upgraded, still this bug persists.
Shouldn't need a mod to fix what should be a working product

Same problem - cant use the unstable warp points. Have more then 500 rounds and all science ended complete (creative race skill) but I cant warp in other regions behind this worm holes. Is there perhaps a bugfix after 4 years this problem was known? Dont like the start with a new game after a lot of hard working hours. No Mods. Game has all automatic updates over Steam.

I can't say that I've run into this myself, but it's also likely this was something Sol fixed in UCP. I'd recommend you try that.

Yes it is a bug with Creative and the base game. Either do not play with that trait or install UCP.

But your save is busted regardless :(

I think I let it with this payed game. Have played MOO2 copy from friends since more then 20 years without any problems but only two battles with this and I have enough from new experiences. ;)

Uh .. and what is UCP? I need a mod to play this game with psilon skill creative?
