Community Content Challenge (#71): Around the World in 80 Hours

Welcome to a very special challenge in which you can win Steam keys and force Abbey Games to create more content! That's right: unlock content for everyone by playing the game. There's no time to waste! Abbey Games poses a challenge to this entire community and every explorer wanting for new content. Your goal: to bring back a certain amount of treasures from every individual expedition, within 80 hours. If you succeed as a group Abbey Games will create new content for Renowned Explorers as a reward.

Rules:

• Play a game on the new version (Build #443, uploaded today, or later)
  
• Your goal is to collect as many treasures as possible from each expedition.
  
• Either screenshot your win screen, or the leaderboards entry for your game. You may even enter the screenshot if you lost.
  
• Only one entry per player. You may replace your previous entry.
  
• You must play on Adventure mode.
  
• Play on Classic Difficulty. Normal is allowed too, but only if you have never participated in a community challenge before.
  
• Everyone in the community will receive the same medal, as per the scoring below.

Scoring:

• BRONZE: Summing all treasures per expedition over all entries, the Tier 1 threshold must be reached.
  
• SILVER: Summing all treasures per expedition over all entries, the Tier 2 threshold must be reached.
  
• GOLD: Summing all treasures per expedition over all entries, the Tier 3 threshold must be reached.

To find out about the thresholds for this challenge, use this Google Sheet[docs.google.com], made available for you to use. However, official scoring will be based on the screenshots uploaded in his topic.

Reaching all these thresholds will unlock the following rewards:

• Raffle: 2 Renowned Explorers keys among participants
  
• Raffle: 2 More To Explore DLC keys among participants
  
• Raffle: 2 Emperor's Challenge DLC keys among participants
  
• In-game: A new shop opens in the Engineering branch - with Legendary (expensive) trinkets!

Silver Tier: ??? Unlock Bronze to reveal

Gold Tier: ??? Unlock Silver to reveal

How to participate

Play the game, visit expeditions that the community still needs treasures for. Make a screenshot of your expeditions & treasures (Win screen or leaderboards entry) after you won or lost, and upload it here!

This sheet is available to coordinate your efforts.[docs.google.com]. However, in the end I'll make up the final score based on the screenshots posted in this topic.

Submit within 80 hours from now. That's by Saturday night, (03:00am CEST, 14/05/2017) (Or 05/14/2017 for those using MM/DD/YY)

NOTE: Only one score will be accepted - only one submission for each player please. If you wish to enter a new score, please edit your initial entry and make it clear which score you are submitting, and add the word "EditGreenlight" to the entry so we can see immediately when the result needs updating.
*If you forget to screenshot the Win screen, you can also enter with a screenshot of your Leaderboards: Go to Main Menu > Leaderboards > Local > click the entry that matches your submission game > screenshot those details.

It was a great choice for a new blood challenge, too. Can't have a couple of dedicated folks farm everything, there's no massively-high scores intimidating folks, the required treasures intentionally favored the lower-tier expeditions so the experts could dive to 5-star while the rest of the folks swing around the easier ones...

I'm more impressed he beat Transylvania. That area tears through resolve with bad rolls. He even got 2 treasures out of it.

Thank could have done another area for the last 1 but I was in a rush. Also I did look at some YT gameplay before buying the game today helped me alot. :3

Just to clarify, the deadline has passed 10 hours ago. I'll handle late entries as participants for the raffle, but not count them towards achieving of the tiers. Any entries posted after this post won't be taken into account at all.

It seems like you've all made Gold, which is truly amazing. But let's not celebrate until I've done the complete count.

Steve Harvey, don't worry, your entry will be counted. Like others suggested when you have game issues you're not the one responsible and it makes sense to be lenient.

Alright, I'm finally done going through all the entries! Pffff, 212 of them! And I only found a few minor mistakes. I think next time we'll do an accounting challenge instead :)

Results

Like you already anticipated, the Gold Tier was made! This was the maximum achievement possible for this challenge so a big congratulations is in order: you've once again outdone yourself and our expectations. It's amazing how many people jumped in to cooperate.

All in all, you've collected 3240 treasures over the span of 80 hours! That's 740 more than was required for Gold Tier which gave a wide buffer for any mistakes. I found a few unverified entries which lowered your score a bit. Fortunately there were way more unregistered entries: I found 35 screenshots which weren't entered in the sheet, which were good for 460 treasures in total. Had there been a Platinum tier, you would have easily broken it. But we can't promise more than we can deliver, so Gold it is.

Rewards

By beating Bronze, Silver and Gold tier, you've unlocked the following rewards:

• Raffle: 6 Renowned Explorers keys among participants
  
• Raffle: 6 More To Explore DLC keys among participants
  
• Raffle: 6 Emperor's Challenge DLC keys among participants
  
• Raffle: 5 Reus keys among participants
  
  
• In-game: A new shop opens in the Engineering branch - with Legendary (expensive) trinkets!
  
• In-game: Some new events are added to Hungarian Fort, Mali and Transylvania. Some treasures won't be where you used to find them...
  
• In-game: There are too many people flocking to Stockholmm and they have to split up!

The raffle winners can be found below. They include everyone who participated. Even unverified entries. If raffles winners don't claim their prize, a re-raffle will occur.

The in-game rewards will take some time to create, but look out for the next Renowned Explorers patch and it will contain the obtained reward content :)

All in all you've found 3240 treasures and made Gold tier with many hours to spare.
There were a 1011 expedition visits, so that's about 3.2 treasure per expedition on average.

We can also look at the perspective of expedition difficulty:

I decided not to call out individual highscores, as every single person has contributed to the end result and should therefore be congratulated. Still, it will be interesting to look at the spread of how many treasures were collected on each run. Hence this table:

What now?

So this marks the end of the 'Around the World in 80 Hours' challenge. It was a lot of effort from everyone, but I personally enjoyed it a lot. It was great seeing lots of new names, as well as returning explorers among which some true all-stars. All in all this was an amazing kick-off of a succesful DLC launch and I'm grateful all of you were around to celebrate it! Many of you will know this, as I've said it often, but it's still true: without all of you playing our game(s), there would be no Abbey Games. <3

Community Challenges are run every week by a couple of awesome volunteers, starting on Wednesdays. The regular challenge doesn't unlock content, but it is loads of fun and a great way to keep enjoying Renowned Explorers. Hope to see you all back on Wednesday!
