Hey Ozull, thanks for the questions. First of all, we've just updated the Store page to show that the game will release in Early Access on July 10th. This comes together with some information about the current state of the game and our plans for it. F.e. current playthrough length. But to answer directly:
Depending on your skill level and pace of play a single playthrough up until winning the game currently lasts between 2 and 4 hours. However we design our games to be interesting replayable systems. For example we offer 4 starting commandments right now, and 13 classes. This will probably take you at least 3 or 4 playthroughs since you can only unlock 2 commandments per play (which means you can combine them in pairs), and usually run about 5 to 7 disciples. All in all, our current goal is to support at least 10 hours of play, that we'll expand throughout Early Access. You might need a bit more to get all classes at max level. Note that some of our beta players have already put in many more hours to try and figure out all synergies and strategies.
Of course it always depends on what type of player you are, and what type of content engages you. If you have any more specific questions about the content, let us know. And feel free to check the stream archives at the Abbey Games YouTube channel if you want a better sense of what's in the game. Also, we'll definitely check your and other players' feedback once the game launches so that we can judge where to put our efforts.

For anyone else wondering: when you back through godhoodgame.com we send you a Google form to fill out the next day we're in the office. After filling that out you get your rewards sent to you automatically.

Weird issue, sounds like a Steam thing indeed. I remember having an unsynced DLC list as well for Renowned Explorers around testing, but it was resolved at some point.

While waiting for a respone from Steam, you could try this workaround. There's a built-in launch-option to disable DLCs.
1. Right click Renowned Explorers in your library.
2. Click Properties
3. Under the tab General
4. Click 'Set Launch Options'
5. Enter: '-disabledDLC=expansion2' without the quotes. (expansion2 is the in-game identifier for TEC).

If you want to disable MtE there as well, you can enter:
'-disabledDLC=expansion2,blastfromthepast'

I think you can also enter this option on a new line in the settings.ini file found in your game folder, but without the minus:
disabledDLC=expansion2

Hope that helps you continue your savegame!
patoache, thanks for the love. We're really happy that we're in a position that we could update Reus 5 years after launch, if only such a slight update as it was. We'll take your suggestion for 'earning Max-Mode by building' with us. What about it do you think would be more fun than Max-Mode itself? Thanks!
vipcxj, please read this topic. It tells you how to activate the fna-version and gives you other methods to figure out what is wrong. It helps you get support.

CARRY OR CARRY, thanks for trying. Have you installed both redistributables manually? I see that I forgot to specify they should be the 32-bit versions. Even though you have a 64bit PC, Reus is a 32bit program. Can you try the 32-bit versions? I'll update the original post to reflect this, sorry.

This past weekend thousands of people tried out the new Patch (1.6) for Reus. It seems it introduced a new crash that some people are experiencing. If you're one of them, then this is to help you.

Finding the cause
First we need to figure out WHY the game crashes. When it crashes the game creates a problem report in your local game folder. You'll find it like this:
1. Right-click Reus in your Steam library.
2. Click 'Local Files'
3. Click 'Browse Local Files'
4. Find the file called "errorReport<date>.txt". This file contains hints on why the game crashed.

If it says something about
System.OutOfMemoryException: Insufficient memory to continue the execution of the program.
Please follow these instructions and let us know if it helped: https://steamcommunity.com/app/222730/discussions/0/630800447144548051/

If it says something like:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'SpaceTech.Font.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found.
Then please read on to fix it and help us figure it out.

If it says something else, you can send an e-mail to support@abbeygames.com and attach this file. That way we can help you figure out what's wrong.

Fixing dependency issues
Option 1
In most cases, it seems to be a missing dependency. We're trying to pinpoint which one it is exactly. First of all, make sure all the dependencies are installed by:
1. Right-click Reus in your Steam library.
2. Click 'Local Files'
3. Click 'Verify Integrity of Game Files'

It might be that the redistributables should be installed manually. If the above doesn't work, please download and install the following
- Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (32-bit)
- Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 (32-bit)
from the Microsoft website. It would be great if you could let us know if this fixes the issue for you. It it doesn't we need to know to, to figure out a different fix.

Option 2
Another options is to play the Legacy version (Patch 1.4) by selecting the legacy branch or to play the FNA version (different engine) of Patch 1.6 by selecting the fna-version branch. The FNA version decreases memory footprint, but framerate is also slightly worse. The legacy version contains some old bugs, so if you can, please try Option 1 first.

You can select a branch by
1. Right-clicking Reus in your Library
2. selecting Properties and under the tab Betas
3. select 'legacy' or 'fna-version'.
Reus should then update, although this might take some time. If Reus does not update, try using 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache' in the Properties menu or restarting Steam.

Brockster17, have the giants already spawned at this point? If so, can you control them? Could you perhaps attach a screenshot so we can investigate the situation?

Just a hunch: in Reus you can toggle the UI with F9, perhaps somehow the UI has turned off? Try pressing F9.

In topic Alt Mode Max Mode Doesn't Work?
It's a bit confusing, but Max Mode means that WHEN you have 4 ambassadors, you will unlock all abilities at level 3, instead of just the ones according to the ambassador mix you made.

To give more detail: normally in Reus when you have 4 ambassadors it depends on the types (Desert, Swamp, Forest) that you mixed which abilities you unlock at what level. This means you can never create all Natural Sources in a single game of Reus. Max Mode gives you the option to create ALL Natural Sources in one game, but only after you have collected 4 ambassadors on your giants.

This appears to be a missing redistributable.
We updated the game to include it. If you update the game then it should prompt the install of Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015. After install the game should work again. If the install doesn't automatically pop up you can search for "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" and install it manually yourself.

If THAT doesn't work, then you can try to install "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017".

Please let us know if these steps help you fix the game, and if so, which step exactly. That might help others in the future :)

Could you go into the game folder and send us the most recent error report?
Right click on Reus in Steam library > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
You will find the errorReport files there. Please send them to support@abbeygames.com and we might be able to help you out!
