Can you grind in this game?
I always hated RPG/Simulation games where I had a limited number of enemies / missions /combat, and I couldn't grind my characters/troops. Also, I hated building up my character / earning "super" weapons, only to be able to use it in the final battle or two.

So, is this agme like Fire Emblem, where you had a set number of enemies / battles?

Or is it more like Xcom, where you have a set number of storyline missions, but you're free to grind in non-storyline missions as much as you want?

Like fire emblem there are limited amount of primary missions that you can only do once, however, there is a skirmish mode that you may repeat as many times as you like and grind out exp.

You can grind a bit if you want. But it comes more into play in the second game. I really grinded quite a bit in that one and enjoyed doing so.

Classes level up, not characters. You can do skirmishes for extra XP and Ducats between story missions if you'd like to grind, but it is purely optional.

In short though, yes, you can grind as much as you like. :)

So grinding is a "New Game+" bonus type of deal? :Akuma:

There are "skirmish" battles that you can participate in as many times as you want. However, it's pretty easy to break the game balance (i.e. remove all challenge) with even a little extra grinding.

Skirmishes are available (almost) from the begining, but in new game plus you have all of them unlocked from the start, and you have hard difficulty, and you can also repeat campaign quests.

Grinding is not only useful for gaining exp and money, but also unlocking your (non main) character's secret potentials, the process is: you make a hero of him in battle, then the reporter will write some extra lines in their profiles (you have to talk to her). This also unlocks their final profile description if they are alive at the end.

The only thing that you may "grind" is to obtain orders from the Aged Gentleman, why I say Grind is because to get the orders you want, it might mean reloading the game (or if I remember rightly reloading a save and completing a mission again) as he gives a random order from a set list. One order you'll find incredibly useful and may want to look into about how and when to obtain is "Awaken Potential".

good thats a relief, i loathe games that require extensive grinding i stil havent technically beast persona 3 since in can instaly end any of the normal fights but thte bosses mop the floor with me, grinding is just far to repetetive and boring...

The issue with the game is that there's no sense of "balance" period in the story. One minute you're breezing through the game, next minute you're crying in the corner getting 1 shot by everything. It's a bipolar wave of difficulty.

true, but when you "restart" you already know what the enemy "will do" so its super easy afterwards to "counter- the counter" so to say...

Well to be honest if you over level scouts the game becomes cake.

Yup, scouts OP paired with a couple of orders, you can also use assaults to demolish tanks with the right orders too ;)

You might just be bad at adapting. I know for a fact that bosses hit hard as hell and usually the solution is to direct all your attacks to them or figure out the scenario solution akin to how you would play a puzzle game.

You can grind in this game but I wouldn't recommend it. The game becomes too easy after chapter 7, even without grinding. You may want to grind for the harder difficulty runs, though.

You can redo missions as much as you want, what you guys on about?
