Haven't had/heard of that issue before, but one easy thing that you can try, that might help, is to run the game as an administrator (you can go to games folder, right click on BBCSE.exe, go to Compatibility tab, check the "always run as an Administrator" checkbox.

Tried that to no avail. I keep getting an crash box. Failed module was ntdll.dll apparently

Well, ntdll.dll can mean a lot of things.

Have you tried restarting the PC?
If yes, does this occur only in this game?

It crashing during creation of save data implies some issue with accessing the hard drive (which is why I suggest run as administrator first, cause it might have been access priviledges issue, and it can still be, UAC (User Account Control) is a common cause of ntdll.dll crashes).

Other potential issue is ofc hard drive failure (bad sectors, etc). Also, it could be corrupted game data as well, might try rechecking the file cache trough steam, or even reinstalling the game.

Now, if issue happens elsewhere as well, it might even be some driver issues, or a faulty component (from just plain broken, to faulty cable/connection to hdd or whatever).

See thats what i find odd. I have restarted and its only this game. But it created save data, i can get past that screen. If i mash i can get to the main menu before it crashes. And as far as driver issues go how do i go about fixing that?

Well, as for drivers, that just means generally updating all your drivers for starts (which if you don't know how to do, well, usualy can be found on manufacturers sites or you can google how to's for that).

BUT, from what you just told me, I have a suspicion it might just be the common issue with BB:CSE (And BB:CT for that matter)

And thats that some codecs (I think ffdshow filters) that work on .wmv files, tend to screw with BB's ability to play videos (hence the start up crash, cause intro video).

One quick way to see if thats your problem is to move VSFilter.dll from the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder, to some backup folder outside C:\Windows.

After you do that, try starting the game and don't mash. If it loads up normaly, then it's your codecs.

You can just use that quick fix permanently basically (if for whatever reason you end up needing that filter, and you probably wont, you can just copy it back into that folder).

Another way to solve it would be to uninstall all codecs, etc, but this one is nice and quick, so try it first to see if that even is the source of the problem.

Yea I already tried that one and I dont have a file of that name. Also if I stop tat the point, the intro does play for the remainder of time before it crashes (which is usally about maybe 2 seconds). Also i have no clue what ffdshow even is :P

I don't think it's related to video codecs; I had problems with the codec crash in the past (BB:CT), and a) there was no error message mentioning a dll, and b) it crashed as soon as the intro video would have played.

I remember there have been at least 2 other known startup problems with BB:CT (that may apply to the similar BB:CSE as well); one of them could be fixed by adding the game .exe to a certain list in Windows, and the other one by creating a profile in Nvidia Control Panel / AMD Catalyst Control Center.
You can bowse the BB:CT forums for more info.

I also faced with the same problem. The game will crash after roughly 10 sec after the application starting, regardless if I skip the intro video or not. If mash the button to skip the intro, it will crash after I am in the menu title roughly around the same time period, otherwise, it will crash during the intro video playback.... I tried all suggestions I can find over the net: ( Steam validity check- OK, DEP adjust- this is not possible as window does not allow it, ffdshow codec fix - I set fdshow to not run on BBCTE.exe, just in case, I also made sure gc driver updated, reinstall microsoft vc2005, tried AMD catalyst tweak, adjusting the .cfg file to open the game in window mode .. ) but still to no avail. Still cannot get it to run properly...

My PC specs should be good enough to run the game. So it should not due to the pc specs problem..

Its really frustrating.. Any help?
thnx alot work it
