Any games like rimworld but more scientific?
I am looking for 2D top down view like survival / builder with focus on environmental factors like gasses, radiation, heat, and more. If there is multiplayer that is even better, any suggestions?

I don't know any that tick all those boxes that you want, but Oxygen Not Included covers everything except the top down view. Heat management, gas management, radiation control, and all that are HUGE parts of the game.

Yeah oxygen not included has great game mechanics, I just find the sprites and artwork ugly.

look for 'cryofall' and 'keplerth'. i have not played these games but it probably fits the criteria that you are looking for

keplerth is just an action game that looks like a bit like rimworld. You control one person and that is it, I would say it's more like minecraft than rimworld.

I feel like "The Last Starship" has potential. But who knows. There is plenty of youtube footage on the alpha right now for you to look up.

Not 2D top down but maybe stationeers could be something you like? has pretty much everything you said and multiplayer but can be quite difficult to get going but once you understand how things work it's pretty fun

Keplerth is crap. Played it like 20 hours waiting for some kind of substance to show itself but there's nothing there. Totally hollow, bland game. Structure art evokes Rimworld but there's no further similarity in that regard. I suspect the popularity comes from it being Chinese-made or something. 5 cent army or just paid the right influencers. Seems to be a pattern, "Core Keeper" similar story, though it's got a better foundation to build on, might be decent in a couple years with more content.

Keplerth has quite a lot of content and is a lot of fun, it's one of my favorite releases of the past year, I think a lot of people just go into it expecting something completely different than what it is. It's basically a top down Terraria, and in order to unlock more content and "substance" you need to progress through the bosses to unlock the higher "techs." That substance is pretty rich, dozens of abilities, genemodding, hundreds of pets with unique traits, gear progression and upgrade systems, automation, etc. It is absolutely nothing like anything else mentioned in this thread though. And Core Keeper has years of development before it catches up to what Keplerth provides, but it does have a lot of promise and I'm looking forward to it making the attempt.
