I really like it, use it in all my runs, especially the not losing my fav colonists part, can't imagine living without it now. Better than deathless from biotech. (I'm still salty about losing my first ever deathless colonist litterally the first fight they were in)
Probably will pick both up at some point, as everyone's tastes change over time.
The main thing is - how much have you played the game already? Are you starting to get bored with having seen all there is already and want something new to make it fresh? This DLC does that, but you might not feel the need for it if you still haven't explored everything in the base game yet. Saving this DLC for last is a good choice because of that.
The one DLC I lurve is and remains Royalty.
I am imagining a setup vaguely resembling a Bri'ish colony, with the local bigwigs ( who, like the Governor of St Helena do not really register in London ) desperately pretending that they are actually important, and do important stuff like rewarding you with a Knighthood for hosting a poodle for 2 weeks. That, and adjudicating the ''greenest lawn on Rimworld'' competition.
Hard to say if its worth it for someone else. But i'l say the following to help you decide:
Its a very fun DLC when you make use of the DLC content. Especially for the first time when you actually have to figure out how to counter everything. It will at the very least give you a few very memorable playthrough's.
But the majority of the DLC's content isn't suitable for anything other then a supernatural horror themed/flavored playthrough (That said, you can simply not activate the monolith in order to not run into most of it, you can further disable anomaly stuff in the games setup phase).
The exceptions (that you can use in almost any type of playthrough even without activating the anomaly stuff) is the double security door and the turret backpack.
Personally i love the Anomaly DLC.
Personal I rank them Biotech > Ideology > Anomaly = Royality.
Amount of content in Biotech is unbeaten :).
Roolplay abilitys in Ideology is creazy (if you like roolplay).
Anomaly and Royality I allways have active but just use tiny pices of them.
But ever stareted with "Adam and Eva"? Jung tribe cupple from different tribes who hate each other? Then start to create your own clan, gen-mod all of them, invent implants and revolution your fluid idiology from tree-huggers to tech-loving-gen-fanatics vampiers.
I love it :D.
(Sounds like a perfect time to lean into anomaly, making them tech-loving-gene-fanatic-cultist vampires :P)
