I BELIEVE IN PIT GATE SUPREMACY
3000 steel from 1 pit gate? Yes please.

That's one deep drill vein

Too much toxic waste packs? Summon horrors from beneath the earth, kill then all, and chuck your trash in there.

Not to mention free rock chunks and a few components.

You could even expand your base in there if you're a Tunneler and an actual madman (and can handle the fleshbeast raids well)

Yeah, flesh beasts are huge pushovers, it's a nice toxic dump.

Getting surrounded by them isn't a real threat, you can melee them all to death, the only issue is taking so many hits so eventually something will land on the brain and cause a "permanent" scar.

Good thing chronophage rituals can fix that too.

I wondered when I first saw the "Summon pit" incantation, it's high bioferrite cost, and long cool down. But the fleshbest pit is one of the most lucrative events in the DLC. I swear I get 1-2 archotech bionics on every dive.

The difficulty is, accidentally killing the dreadmeld before harvesting everything.

Makes me wish all of those offmap missions had similar loot, haven't bothered with them since royalty I think.

Flesh pits are great reward wise but I long for a "Challenging Pit Gate" mod

FrozenSnowFox has a couple mods tweaking the rewards for em'.

Do you use the mod for better anomaly loot or do you get that vanilla ? I tend to get serums at best
One pit, I got 1000 steel and a good book. The next pit, I got 8000 steel, 1000 uranium, 20 components, a legendary book, an archotech arm, leg and eye. What can be found down there varies wildly.

Is there a trick for hauling things to/from the pit though? Sure dumping rubbish on eldritch horrors and stealing their jade sounds fun, but is there a better way to move stuff than "draft colonist -> pick stuff up -> climb rope -> drop stuff"?

Ah man, I don't even want to imagine how long that'd take to haul back up to the surface, even without having to micro each pawn to pick up as much as they can, climb the rope, drop, climb down the rope...repeat 100 times...I once tried that with my three miners a bunch of plasteel, jade and gold, and I gave up after about six trips.

Gonna need some kind of Farskip Transport Pod mod, or a Tunneler Drill from Underrail:

Functions like a shuttle...but moves up and down between the pit-gate pocket map? That'd be cool. Load it up with 1000kg of crap and aweigh!

A lot cooler than simply adding an Archotech powered anti-gravity lattice spring loaded self charging trascendant tech vaporised particles from the air with powered dust molecules from the nucleus of far away blackhole antimatter pinhole backpack that can hold 1000kg of stuff, anyway.

Click on the enter pit or exit pit button when selecting the entrance/exit. A caravan menu will open where you can designate what you want moved into/out of the pit. Then all of that stuff will be hauled in/out automatically. Also a fun discovery, all mechanoids will assist with hauling when in the pit, which makes the speedy ones like scythers or lancers MVP's for emptying the pit's goodies while being able to defend themselves.

Is that new? I swear that wasn't a thing in my last game, although maybe I didn't look hard enough. Well, that's neat. Do pit-gates hide wealth?

Also the mechanoid thing sounds cute. How much crap can a Centipede or Diabolus move at once?
