Any mods that can replace "search and destroy"?
with the new ghouls in 1.5 and the fact that i usually enjoy having melee fighters to tank and spank in battles, i really miss the search and destroy mod that allows battles to flow like a mild food poisoning.

but now i am getting 200 enemies spawn in on me and i have to pause every 2 seconds to micromanage my 4 ghouls and 8 melee fighters while struggling to survive only to find out that my 2 long range snipers are 2 tiles out of range...

does anybody know of mods that can help out in combat?

The Run and Gun Mod has a search and destroy module that works well.

I would not trust sending all my pawns out after a shambler horde. I would not expect any of them to make it back.

Won't undrafting and telling them to attack instead of run work in a similar way?

That only works for enemies they can see. Search and destroy will cause your pawns to use the same type AI as enemies do to seek your pawns out and kill them.

For example, you could raid an enemy camp, and immediately turn your pawns loose at the edge of the map, and it will be like 2 enemy factions fighting it out.

No problemo. Only reason I knew about it is because I did my normal nightly 'browse newly released mods and see if there's anything I may like' and remembered seeing that a few hours ago.

Ghouls seem to have a pretty wide reaching automatic aggression actually. Wish melee colonists were as vicious when on fight mode undrafted, can just undraft ghouls vaguely in the area of a fight and they'll even hunt out of line of sight. I really like it. Something that can hunt people down in general with colonists as well would be great. Hopefully this person taking over search and destroy knows their stuff cause it sounds like a godsend.

i can confirm that the updated mod works like a dream. i can finally play properly again without spending hours micromanaging one battle :) and ghouls... with genes and implants are incredibly dangerous.

I had been playing very ranged heavy colonies, but my current playthrough requires a more - personal - touch. I am glad this mod got adopted.
