Do I need any DLC to get my colonists pregnant?
I am new to this game, so please be kind.
I startet with one militay guy and two womans.
One is a doctor and the other other one is bounty-hunter.
All didn't refuse any work - so good for my on my fresh start.

Is there a way to grow in population by natural?
I mean, let them have babies?
Meanwhile i got another wild woman which i tamed.
So one guy and 3 womans - this lucky guy should reproduce with at least one the 3 womans, or is it not possible?

Thanks in advance
DK

Yes. The Biotech DLC is needed for babies.

So without DLC/Mod there is no pregnancy for my colonists build in the game?
Oh, so sad :(

Thank you, you both.

Well, in the original 'vision' of the game, devs thought multi-generational colonies would take too long, contrary to the idea of getting "off the planet", which is ostensibly the goal of the game. Mind you, most of players rarely play to the 'endgame' so... you know. :)

They did also come up with a pretty decent way to fast-track the growing-up part. It works really well, imo. 40% of my current colony's adults in my current playthrough are from babies born in the early game.

Oh, funny didn't know. Thought that creating a colony is a temporary goal to the way getting off this planet. So babies should be normal :)

Can I add and activate the DLC in a running world?
So i don't want to start over from scratch, if not neccessary.

You can always get the RJW mod for that feature, but Biotech is just better to be honest.

Yea, you can get DLC midgame. However, your map won't have the red-flashing light (aka wrecked mech) that you can use to make one of your colonists a mechanitor. But I guess you could just devmode it or something like that...

They will eventually get a quest to go out and get one

You can still have babies without the Biotech DLC:

Use this mod:

Makes sure to read the description properly, you'll need to configure this mod and there are a few other mods you'll need to download to make sure it works properly.

Nope needs biotech. I strongly feel that the base game is incomplete without biotech due to children.

Rimjobworld will let you have pregnancies without the Biotech DLC, but RJW is specifically a pornographic mod and will have a lot of extra nonsense you probably don't want.

And even then, Biotech's implementation is leagues better.

biotech is needed for that and frankly in my opinion its well worth the money I have the Royalty, Ideology and biotech dlc and all three are 100% worth buying and enhance the games gameplay on multiple lvls

yea rimjob world is.... problematic if you don't have certain.... tastes shall we say? I'm trying to be pg because I dont want a ban but the mod is kinda messed up. Get biotech you get to have families without as much grossness that said depending on the size and design of your colony and playstyle there is a good chance you'll end up with a massive clan of people banging their cousins uncles and aunts unless thats a bug that "Romance on the rim" adds somehow. Half my colony are related I had to start kidnapping enemies and converting them to our creed to diversify the gene pool XD
