Basically your modern combat rations. It is a full size daily food that can be stored without a refrigerator and last a very long time. Add water and you are done kind of deal. They are also supposed to taste like those kind of meals tend to taste. Most are awful, but some are decent.
Yeah, I know what they are IRL. My brain just wasn't connecting them to Survival Meals in the game and I was confused because there is nothing in the game called MREs. :p I mean, I should have made the connection, my brain is just slow.

Lool the Sabre statue from Fate in there is hilarious as a chinese 'traditional' style.
Sabre is created by a japanese artist who based her on the european arthurian folklore tale. Talk about cultural fusion.
That's the add-on! The actual Traditional Chinese Expanded Mod is more realistic. The Mod in question was split off because its author deemed it too goofy.
