No. Rotten corpses are completely inedible.

No, they are unsalvageable in virtually every way (Expect if you're planning on using the Resurrection Mech Serum). The best course of action would be to either cremate, incinerate or blow them up.
oh well, off to the incinerator then

I confess to being a little let down with the utter uselessness of non-fresh bodies. Should they be a tasty snack? No. But, maybe biofuel at least. They're gross but they're still organic after all.

Mods solve that problem

If you cook them into tasty Survival Packs they last forever and never rot.

It adds a bit of urgency to cleanup, get on top of it or things go to waste. A lot of people tend to dismiss hauling as a "real job" and use mods to basically remove it, but it's meant to be pretty important and raid cleanup is basically a "hauler check." If it takes too long you don't have enough haulers, and things lose value or rot while sitting out.

You can also burn them without an incinerator with molotov cocktails

If there's anything the tutorial taught me that stuck, it's the immense value of hauling-trained doggos. Also a freezer.

Animals with hauling aren't as helpful as I thought they might be. If I give them access to my storeroom they use that access to devour fine meals and poop everywhere, which to be fair is what real world animals will do. If I deny them access to the storeroom they can only deposit items where they're inconvenient to access for work, like outside. It is possible of course, set up some shelves outside but right next to the workshop and have the shelves only contain wood and metal, that sort of thing. But, I'm lazy...

Why are you storing fine meals in a storeroom? Make a freezer for your raw food and meals, have meals on some shelves near the door, remove those shelves from your hauling animal's allowed area. Also different animals have different filth rates, elephant haulers probably shouldn't be running around inside, but dogs don't generate any more filth than people. Wolves and panthers are generally fine with access to a store room but just kept out of bedrooms or hospitals, they only generate slightly more filth than humans. Bears, thrumbos and elephants are the ones that crap all over the place.

Zoning is important for job control. Ban animals from high value storeroom and make a low value store room where the hauling animals can access. Your hauler dogs will bring everything to the low zone and your pawns can haul it from the low to the high. Restrict pawns to home area and they won't wander to the edge of the map to haul stuff from far away.

I just use my freezer as my storeroom, saves space keeping everything together. But probably not ideal, yeah. I've been fiddling around a bit more, putting shelves meant specifically for crafting next to the fabrication bench and that kind of thing. Like those I stick all the steel and plasteel and gold on.
