Animal Controls

Description
Tools to make general animal herding more convenient.

Features
- makes so all animals can have food restrictions (the same as Animal Food Restrictions mod);
- makes so "Animals" tab has "Food Restriction" category (similar to AnimalFoodRestrictionInTab mod);
- adds food categories for all plants. All "tree" class objects go to the "trees", other plants that can be grown by the player go to "crops", and everything else goes to "plants";
- adds "Other Edible" category for everything that can be eaten, but doesn't go to the "Plants" or normal "Foods" category, so you can now restrict edibles that can't be usually forbidden. Don't forget to synchronize your food restrictions with drug restrictions;
- you can restrict pawns (i.e. animals) from eating growing plants;
- added an option to set default food restriction for all joining animals (see Food Restrictions -> Defaults);
- added an option to set a food restriction that all handlers will use when taming or training animals. This restriction overrides current restriction set to the animal (see Food Restrictions -> Defaults). I. e. you can set all grazing animals to only wild plants, yet your handlers still can train them using separate restriction;
- all newborn animals inherit their food restriction from their parents;
- all newborn animals inherit their area restriction from their parents;
- handlers, instead of using only non-meal food, now can use any food with low nutrient value for taming and training (euqal or below 0.1). In vanilla it means you can use pemmican;
- (optional) an option to allow pawns feed, tame and train animals using hay. Animals also prefer growing plants and hay over everything else if they're allowed to eat it;
- (optional) an option to make animals pay attention to the handler, preventing them from running off right in the middle of interaction.

Can be added mid-game. You might need to update your food restrictions. Can be removed mid-game with generally harmless error messages. You might need to re-draft your pawns.

So excited for this mod to be updated. My huskies keep eating all my packaged survival meals instead of their kibble :GreedPuke:

Well since 1.6 is upon us I'll have no choice but update the mod anyway, so I might as well touch on that replimat problem, if it can be fixed at all.

This mod is great.
The Gastronomy mod is also great.
If these two could be used together it would be of great value to users.
Please make some small changes.

I see, I'll attempt to not forget to check on it, but no promises :p

Hello.

I have investigated the problem where the Animal Controls mod conflicts with the Gastronomy mod, causing Gastronomy to break.

My guess is that the problem is caused by the ThingListGroupHelper_Includes_AnimalControlsPatch in this mod.

This conflict is caused by the troublesome specifications of Gastronomy, so it is not the fault of the Animal Controls author. However, if possible, I would be happy if you could add a small fix to the Animal Controls mod to avoid this conflict.

I have summarized my investigation in an image, so please check it out here.

You can remove pemmican from the list of food usable for training and taming.
Idk about quantity, don't member changing anything. Mb something changed in vanilla since I've done it.

Or at least it should scale based on animal size. With this mod, I can feed one piece of pemmican to an elephant to train it versus vanilla it requires at least 20 kibble

Any way to disable using pemmican for training? It's a bit op that we can just use one small piece of pemmican to train animals
