Best Methods for Live Capture?
So I love thsi game got it yesterday spent way to many hours on it already. Finally feel like I know what in the world I am doing, just figured out how to make my own freezer this morning thought it was atech I had t ounlock lol. Anyways now I got the basics down good, I amd trying to be more aggrassive and do recruiting from my own prison, and since you can't raid in this that means take prisoners I got stop killingthem so damn well.

At first its hard not to wound them and watch them wringle on the ground for what feels like hours, but now I want them to stay alive Well my rifleman just ain't having it. Seems like the more I have my guys get better from hunting using their firearms the more deadly they become. Which would be fine if I didn't need new people so bad in my coloney, I mean you get the random request for help calls but those bite in the butt hard. Last one I did got a nudist pyro manic, and it was winter so I had to put her in the heaviest clothes in the game only way she could have been more covered would be to get a berka mod just to piss off nudists.

Anywyas I am racking my brain here, do I have to go melee I got bad experince with that hunting with melee resultes in a lot of smased toes, ears, and fingers for my colonists, but the club does seem to do wonders for knock outs. Or should I go tribal and rock a war bow? I mean my team with normal grade pistols and one rifle I started with gun downed and killed tribals way too easy, had trouble with the pirate raiders but still killed them all. Would the assualt riffle, and snipers bigger damage cuase them to go into shock easier or jsut make it so the bodies drop faster?

From what I've found, never go hunting with melee, if you have the option to go for ranged.

As for incap'ing people, instead of killing them, the best way I've found, is to get blunt melee weapons, and attack them. Or, what I do, since I never carry melee, is make my entire colony gang up on induviduals, and use their bare fists. At the end of the day, there are still dead people, but more have been incapped, rather than if I had used guns/swords.

**Edit
I'd suppose melee attacking people, with your guns equipped, would work as well as your fists, and you wouldn't have to unequip them beforehand.

Clubs = Blunt force trauma less chance of killing and more chances of incapacitating the enemy. Sniper rifles blow limbs off like arms and legs and are a general pain in the ass especially when your sniper is firing and one of your guys is meleeing an enemy then you have to buy (or make if you have mods) bionics for your people.

Either Orion Corp pacifier if you don't mind mods, or shock lance if you want them brain dead. Alternatively, charge rifles tend to leave live targets if you hit them with just a few.

Some tips:

You can command gun-armed colonist to melee attack. Ones with bionic limbs are devistating, if they have high melee skill and get told to do so. This tends to knock people out without killing them.

Focus your gunfire on attackers with bad traits, or you simply don't care for. The moment the invaders start fleeing, set your fastest colonist (bionic legs/joggers/fast walkers/ect) to melee attack the ones you want. If they can catch up they will be able to melee without any fear of retaliation (fleeing raiders don't fight back).

Make sure to drop any parkas or other slowing clothes from people you are useing people to run down the targets.

A slash from a dual bionic armed power suited melee 20 brawler wielding a masterwork plasteel longsword would definitely incap if it hits a limb or nonvital organ. If it hits a vital, they ded. Period.

That is by far the best trick seen mentioned so far, I will try that out tomorrow been debating a fresh start so much to do in this game feel like a screwb every time I discover some little new thing I realize I did my entire save wrong. Like when I figured out how to make a freezer that was a huge game changer, more so then my first prison cell

You could try heat trap. Enemies will not even get any injuries. They will just get heat stroke. Especially fleeing enemies are easy to trap.
Please explain this heat trap method

Now that's a necro master right here.

Heat trap: lure enemies into a room, light something on fire so temperatures go high and close off the room. When everyone is down quickly destroy one wall so the high temperature instantly disappears.
Warning: Don't go very high with temperatures because enemies will get burned alive.
I think you can also use heaters, a safer but more expensive way.

Oh i hate snipers, once got a siege and the only weapon they had, they blew the spine out of my best doctor and only researcher, but my savior of the colony used his legendary silver mace to destroy 4 of them in 1-2 hits

The gas mod works well or trapping people in a heated room

Yeah, clubs are good. Small firearms are also good if you're using ranged weapons. The idea is to knock them out via pain due to numerous small wounds.

There was a lot of said, what to do and how to do, so I won't be repeating what was already said, and here is a couple of mods for you, if you don't mind using them:

i think i found the best way to capture raiders !! you shuild go for trading and buy a weapon called "psychid shock lance" with this item you can 100% immediately unconscious attackers. but work just for 2 times.

As a sidenote to help you later , Melee eventually becomes extremely important so training it now by beating down some weak raiders will help in the long run.
Losing a few fingers and toes along the way isnt that big of a deal since you will eventually be using bionics anyway. Obviously there is a line where its to much damage but that is usually a result of trying to facetank muffalo not raiders.
