11 years in, no second mechlink.
Title.

I kind of hope they'll fix the spawn rate. If you want to have a mech-centric colony, it should be possible. There's even functionality for it (transfer command of mechs), however there's simply no way to get more mechanitors other than to wait for the quest.

Have you tried settling in a new tile? I would think that the new tile would spawn with the destructible that summons a mech-link ship. I was relatively lucky on my run where I found a mechanitor complex twice after my initial guaranteed drop. Unfortunately and exploding fuel cell burned the body before I could extract so missed having a third mechtech

I went tomb raiding a couple of times, but I didn't notice another glowing war thing for the mech link. I could try some extra tiles, but I think once it happens in the initial tile, it doesn't repeat.

In my mechanitor playthrough it took about 6 years for a mechanitor complex to show up, so it might be random

It took 4 years in my game for another mechlink complex to show up.

I got my 2nd one the same year, it seems to be very much RNG.

Just for the record, It took 17 in-game years for the quest to spawn for me to get a second mechanitor. I would probably never had seen it either in a normal playthrough. (I'm doing a super long archonexus playthrough).

I kind of gave up on the idea of multiple mechanitora by now.

Kinda hope they tune the quest chance up. Lol.

there is the senario editor where you can make a looping incident for the "ancient mechanitor complex" to what every you feel should be the right amount of time.

And with a mod you can make these senario edit mid game. i just dont know if there is any for 1.4 yet. this is the old one for 1.3

During my current run I had the quest for the second mechlink on the very day I installed the first, just a few hours later. Still haven't taken advantage of it yet as I have other concerns to deal with, and steel is in short supply anyway.
