Way to replace limbs in Dev Mode?
As much as I love this game, it's got a top notch ability to spew rage-inducing bullsh!t. I've got four people in cover behind rock chunks, three who have shooting skills of 8+ and are using survival rifles, going against a single raider behind a tree, who has a shotgun and a shooting skill of 0.

He hits three times in a row, taking the leg off of one of my colonists. F that nonsense, he's got a shooting skill of 0, he should have died right away.

Anyway, I'm hoping there's a way to give a pawn a leg back using dev mode. I'll deal with the peg leg if I have to, I don't feel like Alt+F4ing again.

there is...you can spawn a leg..haul it...then amputate bad leg...and operate and install new leg..
but its cheating...the spawning of the leg

just create a leg yourself..the fun of the game is that it never goes well your colony and you...the player..have to constantly struggle to survive..

I totally get that, and I'm not averse to bad stuff happening.

But there comes a point where the game has spawned too much BS and I will just Alt+F4 my permadeath game and go "no, sorry, f**k you".

This was one of those times.

There's a way to do it, go to tools, apply damage, restore body part, torso.
This will heal EVERYTHING except for things that effect the whole body.

For rimworld 18 you want to get onto the development mode, go to the tool remove hediff and then pick what you want to remove. It can get rid of mostly anything

Hello people of the future that don't live in 2016 and have since forgotten about this post!
For those of you tenacious ones who want the answer to this question without people whining and telling you not to cheat, the way you add limbs to colonists, animals, etc is to go into dev mode, click on the debug actions menu (the thing at the top that looks like a spinny wheel with a triangle next to it, the first one), click on the search bar and type "Add Hediff...". With this menu you can add any limb or prosthetic included in the game by any of your mods! Just be sure to experiment with a wild animal or something before you start using it on your beloved colonists.

Some people are just looking for straight answers. Don't tell them how to play the video game.

While I applaud the desire to answer this, and agree that people should not tell others how to play video games, it is extremely unlikely that people are looking for this post in particular for a resolution, as it is 4 years old. Thread locked.
