trying to recall off the top of my head, but i want to say excessive overcharging, i usually wind up placing electric conduits in every tile of my battery room so hopefully redundant wiring should help too.

also useful info here, you might not want to have seperate isolated batteries though.

They can't stand rain or excessive heat.

I put them in a small room with an air-con unit set to -1 degrees C, never had an issue since

If you place your batteries in freezer, they'll not explode, but it doesn't prevent short circuits.

This is a popular and good choice, and to add batteries are ugly, so it keeps them out of sight as well.

This.
My batteries are in my air conditioned "food locker". I haven't had one explode or catch fire since.

Huh, never knew that i always have a large workshop normally placed as close as possible to the item storage and normally i dont have the fire issue, guess i should watch out for the whole battery explosions thing, i'm always scared for the meat is my problem xD i had put the battery in the freezer at first because thats what nl did and it seemed to work so why the ♥♥♥♥ not? but then i started putting them in the workshop because well it kinda made sense to me put them next to the bulk of the power production and by extension what i will more often than not want to have power before everything else.

This.

Also, it helps if you put a power switch connecting to your batteries, turning them off when fully charged.

IIRC they only start having problems above 60C or 80C, something like that.
If you set those coolers up to like 30C they'll only cost power if there's a heatstroke. :)
