Pawns Auto seek berrys and heal root when ready a thing?
Can they be set to gather these without clicking each one that is ready to harvest?

I second the colony manager mod. I love it.

You can do this in the base game by creating a grow zone under the plants and turning sowing off. Anything harvestable on a grow zone will be auto harvested at 100% growth, including trees if you want to make a natural automated tree farm.

so then it doesnt matter what i pick to sow, the item under it if sow is turned off wont be shreaded?

So i can thus turn the whole map outside my home region to a growing area and they will go to work on it?

Pretty much, yes.

You *MAY* want to consider deleting the home zone that gets automatically created. On the plus side of deleting home zone there... they won't clean. On the negative, they won't fight fires.

Ya, i have to keep adding home zone to have them put out lightning fires as they can do alot of damage without rain since i always live in forest hex's lol.

Just remember that it doesn't end with you Zoning the area(s) - They will work it. Cutters will cut what's not supposed to be there, growers will grow what the Zone is designated for if allowed to, stuff will get hauled to wherever it's supposed to be.

IOW - It's a lot of "work," much of it with little practical use.

Easiest solution doesn't even need mods.
When you need berries/healroot use the "Harvest" order and drag select big areas around your base. Anything ready to harvest will be selected.
No need to click each plant one at a time and it takes just seconds to give the orders.

Is right-click/"select similar on map" a thing in vanilla? If so, grab a nearby healroot, do that and click harvest.

ya but they can harvest the ones that are not at the full yeild gain if you do it that way.

Careful when you do the grow zone thing (I do this even with the colony manager mod, because I can't afford the manager bench in the first quartum): Drag selecting big ol' areas will also get nooks and crannies that create multiple grow zones of a few squares. Even if you disable sowing in the large area, you'll find a pawn planting a single potatoe in a patch of soil halfway across the map between some rocks.

They don't do any of that if you disable sowing on the zone. The only thing they do is harvest things at 100% growth that can be harvested, they don't touch anything else, grass/weeds are left alone, baby trees are left to grow, chunks aren't moved, it pretty much functions exactly as you would want it to. It will be a lot of work depending on the map if you factor in all the trees though, if you set a forest to one big non-sowing grow zone your pawns will likely spend all day every day chopping trees as they reach 100%.

Isn't that from the mod "Allow Tool"?

May well be. Haven't played a pure vanilla game in forever.

I don't use allow tool and I think that does happen, but only within the bounds of what is visible on-screen, and possibly only what's touching one another. (like you can do it with a pile or rocks in a stockpile or simply out next to one another - but only next to one another). I tend to only do it by accident as I usually drag a harvest square over sections of the map instead of trying to individually click them.
