So.... on the 11th of Septober... 37 days after the colonists abandoned the colony, a wanderer finally joined. A bartender named Cat lol. She is bad at shooting and melee, a 0 in construction but is decent at cooking and great at plants and animals lol, also is decent in medicine. Unfortunately she's a pyromaniac so I'm hoping someone else joins before there's a fire for she starts a fire! LOL
So, she's got a lot of work ahead of her but with the hospitality mod guests should show up soon and many of them I had friended to the point of being ready to recruit.
Absolutely! LOL
Though, personally I find it more interesting/satisfying to wait until it randomly happens. To me, I feel like it makes the story better to have the base sit dormant, wearing down with time. Then, a wanderer finds your long abandoned base, starting anew and fixing up it up, rather than starting with a perfectly laid out, in perfect condition, base to begin with. Though, this does require waiting to have it happen naturally.
This isn't the most eloquent solution, but you can upload the screenshot somewhere in discord, then right click copy link, and paste said link here. Don't delete it or discord stops hosting the image. Possibly send it to a random discord bots DMs, if you don't wish to just out of nowhere send it to a chat somewhere. I'm not entirely sure if you can truly attach a file to a message on steam discussion boards.
The discord thing I suggested is just a possible solution. I'm aware not everyone has discord. I'm aware everyone here has steam, the point is both I and the person who asked how to post a picture are unaware of how to attach a picture within steam. I'm not sure what to say about you saying discord is for sheep. You saying "it don't matter just post your pic" doesn't really help much, as they were saying they don't know how to post a picture. This is the equivalent of someone asking for help on a math problem, and me telling them to just do it.
LMAO at Dog! Done as soon as one joins lol
Yes I have my colonists craft dusters and tuques and sell them. Make a lot of money off of it and buy from trade ships and caravans. If I get impatient I build those mines you see on the left. You can mine any mineral with them and components. It's a little OP but I don't get anything I wouldn't get from trading dusters and tuques for and I never mine components, that's a little too OP
I have the hospitality mod. It allows you to build guest beds. Any bed set to guest status turns purple. You can set a price too starting at free and going up in increments of 10 silver. Don't set it too high or guests can't claim a bed. Guests can also buy stuff from you, you just have to create a zone that has stuff in it you want them to buy and using the guest tab set the shopping area to that zone, they will occasionally buy stuff in that zone. In the mod options you can also set what types of work guests are allowed to help with. When they leave after a day or 3 they leave gifts based on how much they enjoyed their stay. It's a fun cute mod to play with.
Thats sick man. I guess rimworld never really ends
thanks! Although I like the randomness of waiting it out. After that first colonist appeared I quickly got drop pod events and even a slave ship lol. Now I'm up to 6 new colonists. Although it was painful to watch my base get wrecked it was fun to watch the new colonists rebuild.
LMAO! Who knows? But yes it's interesting. I switched it to Randy Random like was suggested. Be prepared to wait too. I waited 37 game days, over half a game year. The advantage though is that the new colonists had great armor and weapons waiting because I had the launched colonists change into shirts and pants and drop their weapons. Just be prepared to watch your colony get raided and trashed lol, but for me that was the fun, rebuilding an abandoned colony. My first colonist to show up had a rough time. The electric stove was trashed so she had to build a campfire in the kitchen to cook because she didn't have the construction level to rebuild the stove. she was limited to simple meals because the dogs had eaten all the veggies but luckily it's cold where my colony is and the meat/carcasses didn't spoil in the freezing temps (my base was damaged to the point that everything almost was considered outdoors) so she was able to butcher and cook simple meals with the campfire in the kitchen. Problem was she had to keep up with the 4 dogs that were left wanting to eat the meals and the wild animals that were running amok through the complex. Raiders had blasted a path through the complex. So Cat, that's her name, had to switch between cooking and repairing walls. It was kinda dicey for a bit because if she got too hungry or upset she might snap and she's a pyromaniac lol.
