How to remove specific sounds

is there a way or even a mod to remove specific sounds.. I love this game but the warning sounds and the lightning strikes and whatnot are getting to be so annoying that I've been looking for another game to play

I'm sure there are probably sound replacer mods for the various warning sounds if you search the workshop. Lighting I doubt, but you could just play in a biome without lightning storms and disable flash storms in the scenario, or you could mod the biomes to remove the weather. There is a way to change or remove any sounds you want through modding, but that's not something I know how to do offhand.

Tunder's defined as a SoundDef in the XML, so you could try removing it, either by modifying the game files directly or via XML patch.
