I've heard stories, ofc, but I've never had a problem with a pyro other than occasionally some aggravating micro. What's the problem?
So even without being like 'no pyros ever thx', you can still have your fire-loving pawn change their mind after a long enough time.
Alternately, a mod like this (which seems to have been updated to 1.2 even if the pic hasn't) might be an alternative too if you'd like pyros to be slightly less flamey: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2025857053
in addition to that i throw in an instory option:

this mod features items that can save and add traits. there you can save a trait up to 3 times (overwriting the previous stored trait) or use its charge to attach the stored trait to a target.
I love the fact they tried to make pyro good but ended up with like... not... I guess deserts are slightly less terrible for them.
In any case, iirc, the base game does a nice job of it with the weapons - even if it's not highlighted. Equip your pyro with a fire-based weapon (Molotovs, Incendiary Launcher, Plasma Sword), and they'll get a mood boost for it.
Personally I don't worry too much about pyros, so long as they're in the minority at my base - but it sounded like OP wants them gone anyway.
