How to non-manually deal with clothing?
So ive gotten back into the game thanks to a friend, and after a LOT of playtime on a colony, every single colonist wants to replace the clothing they got on. is there any way to make it so i dont need to physically click on all 11 of them every other week and order them all to wear xyz new clothing? i.e can i automate it (or even remove clothing decay all together)?

Click on the Assign tab and then click to edit their outfit. You can adjust the slider so they only wear stuff above 51%, you can also remove tainted apparel or restrict them to specific clothing options.

To fully automate have a bill on your tailor bench to maintain a certain number of pants/shirts/whatever, and set the bill to only count items above 51% as well.

I'd recommend the MendAndRecycle mod - it lets you construct a work station where you can repair damaged clothing (and even remove tainted status when a piece of clothing is fully repaired). It takes a bit of research and constant supply of materials (repair kits, which take 50 steel and 30 textiles to make), but is generally a well-balanced way to keep your stuff in good repair.

Then what you do is go into your Assign menu, to the clothing options. I assume you've got all your colonists set to Anything, so go into that. At the top is a slider bar. Set the minimum (leftmost) slider bar to 50% and leave the max at 100%. That means that your colonists will wear clothing with a durability of 50-100%. And when it drops to 49% (and becomes tattered), they take it off and automatically replace it.

thanks, both of you actually helped. i had no idea that slider existed nor that the tailor could maintain! ill try to stay off the mending mod for now,but if it gets too overwhealming (only got one electric tailor bench, and only one person who's competent at it;most people are miner-farmer-doctor hybrids somehow).

With the MendAndRecycle mod, I think the mending table needs a base skill of 4 for simple clothes and weapons, and 6 for advanced clothes (typically power armor-level) and weapons. It doesn't require a huge amount of skill, especially for maintaining just simple clothing items.
