Mod to force clean kitchen?
are there any mods that can force your cook to clean the kitchen before cooking?

Here you go, broski: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1561769193

Pawns will clean around any workstation whenever they start to work. It generally keeps your base cleaner with zero effort from you.

I was thinking of that mod even if I don't use it. I follow a streamer that use it. I don't know if it comes from that mod, but any sterelized floor have highter priority for cleaning.

Yeah, common sense has a lot of things you can tweak and tune, from how far pawns will "look" when gathering up materials for hauling to how far they'll clean around their workstation.

I really should try that mod at some point. I have had it "favorited" forever, meaning to give it a try and still have yet to do so.

The only issue with Common Sense is that because pawns now generate more ticks and stuff, it can slow your game down if you get a lot of pawns in your colony. But if you pair it with RocketMan, that goes away, making it entirely beneficial.

RocketMan basically preempts ticks and checks, meaning that instead of checking 16 times every second for everything (which is the default, I think), it checks most things once a second - or even once every 2-3 seconds. This can help system slowdown TREMENDOUSLY. After all, what's the difference if Rimworld is checking for Fire in your Home Zone 16 times a second or only once a second, since Fire doesn't spread 16 squares in one second?

while it might not be a big deal for fire, it could be for other things, making common sense mod less useful. for example your cook cleans kitchen and starts to cook 1 sec later and since game only checks every 2-3 seconds you will end up cooking in dirty room and possibly poisoning your meals. same goes for treating wounds etc.

No, because the pawn will clean *before* they cook. And since it takes a couple of seconds to cook a meal, then there's a good chance that if there is any dirt that shows up while they're cooking, they'll just clean it up before they cook the next meal.

I mean, seriously. How filthy can your kitchen get in 3 seconds? Are you parading hordes of elephants through there while you're cooking? XD

Step 1: Get a slave
Step 2: Restrict slave area to the kitchen and slave bunk.
Step 3: Profit?

If he doesn't do his job wel then pit him in a gladiator fight against your other slaves. Winner gets to clean the kitchen. Sounds like a good deal right?

Also, each time you get food poisoning you can decide to take a limb from your slave. I started with an eye. Then an ear. Then an arm. I'm slowly creating a frankenstein monster, which in time will only get out of his slave bunk for gladiator fights. My naughty slave already has earned the name : The Freak. Soon he will be every slave's nightmare.

Stuff like this writes great stories. Through hardship they will evolve. Mad about the dirty kitchen? Punish the slave that is responsible for it's hygiene.
