It should feel dirty though, it's not how hauling was balanced to work. The amount of time it takes to haul a bunch of small things one by one is what the game and colonist movement speed and such is all balanced around. The dev once mentioned he could make hauling more efficient, but to maintain the balance he would have to slow down colonist movement speed so things take the same amount of effort, to maintain the balance he wants.
I expect at some point he will figure out a way to counter the temp caravan exploit, so I wouldn't get used to it.
This is the mod you want though:

IMO the game is often borderline painful to play without the Pick up and Haul mod. The issue is less the time it takes for default hauling behaviour to complete tasks (bringing 1 item at a time) and is more about the huge amount of clicks needed when the player wants to force them to do it more efficiently. Hopefully something like what this mod provides will be added to the game eventually :/
Now you've got a massive hauling issue. Because every item, no matter the size, is the same. A lowly 1 smokeleaf that he had on him ? That's the same as an entire stack of blocks.
That's why it doesn't work. Loots, if there's variety, drastically increase time spent going back and forth. If you don't want it to take days, you need multiple haulers. But in that meantime nobody is doing anything. So its a massive setback on an entire day even though you've won a raid. Its backward beyond reason.
