Cook oldest food first mod
Hi, is there a mod that allows me to prioritize oldest food to be cooked first? Im tired of my colonists cooking with the fresh meat while all my old meat is going bad.

Use the Best Mix mod with the Item Expiry option.

Common Sense. Which also does a lot of other nifty stuff which you may or may not want, but I believe most of it can be switched on or off in the options.

If you do not want to add mods, here are vanilla suggestions.

- Forbid the fresh meat that you do not want used at the moment.

- Use the range slider on the meal bill to include the desired stockpile of old meat but excludes the stockpile of fresh meat.

I assume you are tribal and are not able to freeze your food (freezers negate this concern almost entirely).

You do know everything turns off for a day every now and then right ?

It's called pemmican/packaged survival meals....then hunt for fresh meat. Meat spoilage would only be a problem on Extreme deserts or Ice sheets (where you don't have the wood to fuel backup gennies for extended periods) but on those maps; meat in general would be a problem.

I'm not trying to be offensive btw....I was honestly surprised meat spoilage is an issue.

A double walled freezer set to a low enough temperature can stay frozen through most flares. I use -30C which keeps things frozen for the vast majority of a flare and refrigerated for the rest, I maybe lose an hour or two on rot timers per flare. -40C or -50C would probably eliminate all loss, but I'm not worried enough to build extra coolers.
