As you can't invade maps and take possession of natural resources while overthrowing the existing regime in the name of instilling democracy, the second best things would be to harvest organs from everybody that dares to die on your map. Maybe some help/ convincing is required... Keep the organs frozen until a trader is available, rinse and repeat.

or, for a lack of freezer, butcher and make human skin garments :) noone wants to wear them, but you still get a silly amount for them.

False! In fact, there's quests that require pretty much exactly this, although you can also do so on your own =).

The most American way? Well, selling weapons or other manufactured goods like medicine is off the table because of how market prices work.

So I'm going to say exporting Art: spread your culture all over the Rimworld so that even the pirates spend their rec time enjoying randomly-generated [Colonyname} art pieces like "The Tragedy of Sparky," or "Game of Thrones Season 8."

Sadly that doesn't really work since weapons lose 80% of their value when selling for balance reasons.
