Mods can add more, one of my favorite positive endings is the one where using genetic rim you create the archotect centipide that can call down orbital lasers and stuff and you become unbeatable after that point.
In regards to what the OP is ACTUALLY talking about, this is the closest thing.
Your best bet is to come up with your own ending conditions and follow those. Like you could say you've won a "wealth victory" after gathering 1,000,000 gold or whatever.
Why not just stay?
I have a hard time not over-prepping for the end game as well, but that makes for some tedious gameplay when you’re just building thicker walls and improving the weapons and buildings. In my last two successful colonies I just stopped playing them. I wouldn’t say this is the game’s fault, just that I find it hard to not prep and it seems like my colony either gets wiped before late game or is most likely going to survive.
I’d like a mod that allows you to rule the region or be drawn into larger political fights, but mods like Empires don’t really do it for me -too spreadsheety.
I think the latest update that has the delivery shuttle mechanism is pointing in the right direction. I’d like the chance to send my pawns off to major battles with lots of npcs fighting, or maybe have to construct fortifications or roads or something.
There's basically an endgame mod like that. I don't remember the name so you'll have to look for it, but you survive a series of raids as if you would a ship launch event. Once you survive through them all, you'll be recognized as an official colony.
