RimWorld
Other ways to end the game.
Currently, the game ends if you launch a ship into space or get the royals to take you off. Are there any mods that add more ways for the game to end?

Well there's the planetary annihilation in scenario setup but that's not really a win
The game also ends if all your pawns perish. I think that's the most common ending.
It just feels that with all the mods there has to be other ways to end it. Like the world becomes a glitter world, and something like if I have magic mods have something related to magic, and not build a ship to get of world.
In vanilla there's the leaving positive ending the planet buster ending and also a soft ending where all your people die negative endings.

Mods can add more, one of my favorite positive endings is the one where using genetic rim you create the archotect centipide that can call down orbital lasers and stuff and you become unbeatable after that point.
Call of Chtulu mod gives each of its deities has a special power that ends the game in.. Interesting ways.

You could try "Save our ship" which let's you build a ship and actually fly around with it in space and do stuff. Genetic Rim was already mentioned and is quite fun. Give it a try!
I forget the name of it, but it's an endgame mod that forces raids on your base much like you would have if you went to the ship. If you survive, you're an official colony of the planet and you get a game win as if you left the planet.

In regards to what the OP is ACTUALLY talking about, this is the closest thing.
Most people aren't looking for ways to end the game, but to push the game even further to make it last as long as possible. This is why there are so few "ending" situations in mods and the base game. Save our Ship 2 is a great example as somebody mentioned, instead of building a ship and ending the game, in the mod you build the ship and continue on forever with the ability to visit new planets etc. It's a hugely popular mod, not many people want to force a gameover, whether a "completion" gameover or a failure gameover.

Your best bet is to come up with your own ending conditions and follow those. Like you could say you've won a "wealth victory" after gathering 1,000,000 gold or whatever.
Winning isn't really the point of Rimworld. Even with the basic vanilla ending, launching off with a spaceship... aren't your colonists just going to another plant to do this same thing all over again?

Why not just stay?
I would like to have some other end game scenarios. I don’t much like the idea that once my colonists establish a mostly functioning community their reward is to basically end up as ancient danger pawns. At the very least I’d like the option for the colony to simply get recognized as a governing body or something.

I have a hard time not over-prepping for the end game as well, but that makes for some tedious gameplay when you’re just building thicker walls and improving the weapons and buildings. In my last two successful colonies I just stopped playing them. I wouldn’t say this is the game’s fault, just that I find it hard to not prep and it seems like my colony either gets wiped before late game or is most likely going to survive.

I’d like a mod that allows you to rule the region or be drawn into larger political fights, but mods like Empires don’t really do it for me -too spreadsheety.

I think the latest update that has the delivery shuttle mechanism is pointing in the right direction. I’d like the chance to send my pawns off to major battles with lots of npcs fighting, or maybe have to construct fortifications or roads or something.
I'll admit, once I'm sitting at ~2k human leathers, I usually stop playing.
I kinda set my own ending. I had one where I considered it an ending when the evil overlords of the base took the ship leaving the good folks behind.
Launch nukes

There's basically an endgame mod like that. I don't remember the name so you'll have to look for it, but you survive a series of raids as if you would a ship launch event. Once you survive through them all, you'll be recognized as an official colony.
I would like it if you could make your world a glitter world myself. Like you advance far enough and have enough force that your world becomes a glitter world with your colony as the capitial
