Can't right click to give orders
I ran into an issue with my current game. I got occational lag spikes when I did prioritized work, but it wasn't a huge problem, so I largely ignored it.
Now however, Several pawns, on selecting and right-clicking on farm plots do not show the right-click menu for prioritization/forcing. Oddly, this isn't universal, as one of them can do a particular plot, while others can't, and vise versa.

Side note, is there a fast and easy way to remove permadeath from a save so I don't have to keep resetting it from backup? Because I've broken things before trying to figure out the offending mod.

Already tried removing Allow Tool and Achtung, as obvious possibilities, but it remained.

just an idea TD Enhancement Pack mostly conflicts with other mods or dont work properly have you tried disabling that?
Tried it, no effect. Admittedly, this all assumes it isn't lasting damage. Unfortunately, I can't just disable *All the mods* because then the save won't load.

I'm having a similar problem, starting suddenly this morning. Right-click doesn't seem to be recognized at all, in any context and with any save.

I'm playing the vanilla game without mods.

There's a known issue with a mod that causes this problem. I just can't remember the mod atm... (I don't use many. I could be thinking about Achtung, too.)

Also, just in case, disable the Steam Overlay. (I always suggest it whenever there's a possible mouse issue or mouse resolution-mismatch issue.)

Make sure all your mods are updated. Check to see if any of your mods recently updated. Check anything that alters Jobs, since some Pawns can still do the requested work on Right-Click.

And, when in doubt, start from a known, clean, state - Exit Steam Fully. (Steam->Exit) Restart the computer. Restart Steam. Start bughunting. :)
So, as it turns out, I am pretty sure the cause is vanilla. If you right click on a farm plot of a higher level than the pawn's plant level, it doesn't show up at all. This explains why it seems to be by farm plot, and by colonist, why removing mods doesn't change it, why remaking farm plots doesn't fix it, and why everything I tried failed. It was working as intended, but it wasn't giving proper feedback.

Agreed, and in a fresh game.

Sometimes removing the mod doesn't remove a problem created by a mod.
Can't remove mods, because that corrupts the file on account of missing information. The map kinda glitched out when I tried.

Starting a new game won't work because I wouldn't know what triggers it.

What matters however, is that the problem magically went away as soon as I stopped trying to have low level growers plant healroot or similar. I'll reload that modpack, and test it there, but unless something ELSE breaks, I have no reason to worry, since it was technically user error.

But yes, I will test it vanilla first.
Edit: Yep. Its vanilla. After forcing a level 3 colonist to grow a zone for healroot (level 8), they went and cut down the grass and trees, and then stopped. Attempting to right click force again resulted in no right click menu.

Edit2: Also, they cut down trees adjacent to the plot, which I guess means trees kinda take up more than one space?

Could you post this on the official forums bug tracker. Chances are that the dev will fix this of he can reliably replicate the issue

Confirming that I get this same issue. Maybe give the official report a bump. Agree that vanilla should at least have some kind of visual indication to the player that a low level pawn is too low of a level to perform a certain action. I spent almost an hour researching what I assumed was a mod conflict falling out from the 1.3 update only to see that I wasn't the only person to encounter this issue that's from way before the 1.3 update was out. Thanks for sharing your insights.

I'm having a similar problem that just cropped up today. Double clicking on a pawn in colonist bar does nothing at all, so I can't get to my individual pawns in a hurry.
