Brain Scar
So one of my colonists shot a raider in the head, and the raider now has a "Mangled Scar" on their brain (2/10 efficiency). I know how to fix it if I really wanted to, but does this mean the raider is more or less in a coma?

Yes, unless you administer them a drug that boosts conciousness, IIRC a pawn is unconcious when their conciousness is at 30% and below, so giving them regular go juice should keep them awake for a little while. Go juice improves conciousness by 20%.

But luciferium heals the scar into non-existence!

Same with healer mech serums, without the downside.

Or you could euthanize him with a smokeleaf joint.

Sounds like organ donor material to me.

Joints reduce consciousness by 30%. A pawn with 0% consciousness is dead. Giving a joint to a brain dead pawn = euthanasia.

To op:
I wouldn't keep that raider in my prison, he is just a useless mouth to feed.
There is no pawn who worth to feed for days / weeks / quadrums / years + waste a healer mech serum on him.

I decided it wasn't worth the hassle (Especially since it was an alien race with a hard to acquire food source) so I euthanized him by cut (might be a mod, kills them but costs medicine)

Not a mod. Base game lets you do that.
If you don't mind using mods then this mod should help you a bit in the future. There is a brain implant you can make that stimulates the brain or you can implant an AI which can be dangerous, also I can't remember if the AI brain implant is vanilla or not.

So I had a colonist who was just awesome until he got a brain scar then he walked slow everywhere and in winter he constantly just passed out. I ended up giving him a Sanguophage xenotype as an experiment and the scarless gene totally got rid of it. Only applicable if you have the biotech dlc but hey it still works. Other than that I'd say put them in cryosleep until you get a sufficient supply of luci or a healer mech.

Also biosculpters heal scars - even if it´s necro time i guess. But this one is 4 years younger than the other one i saw a few seconds ago...

Also sometimes they add some buff to it. Like 50% additional manipulation, which is nice if it´s somehow Your genie guy, who has 110% by default without any implants, and he is also Your production specialist. He looses his speech, but this way he can´t really be the cause for a social fight - and that´s the only "downside" of it.

If you manage to find a Scarless Genepack make sure to buy it at all costs. Any pawn you apply it to will have 1 scar, permanent injury, or chronic condition cured automatically every 15-30 days.
Guys, this thread is 3 years old.

What exactly is the cutoff point? Or is necro hunting the latest social media trend and I'm missing it?

Did they just wake up from a 3-year coma?
