Last time I saw (un)dead things that were supposed to be dead dead was a bug regarding the Death Rattle mod.
Edit- Turned off the 2 mods still no effect even on a save before the bug hits. Then turned all mods off- bug is still happening after loading a previous file. At this point I fear this may be a string of corrupted save files.
Most likely. Keep in mind that some mods are just not save game friendly with being removed mid game. No idea if any of the ones you are using fall in to that case, but it is something to watch.
As for issue that was plaguing the previous colony, it most likely just the saves were corrupted due to one of the patches at the time. I suspect it was with how certain animals were saved/loaded in the files at the time. No matter how much damage the corrupted animals took, they wouldn't die. It was amusing at first but then the damage started to make the game chug. I still have the save files though at this point with the new updates the zombie animals bug will be a mystery consigned to the games history.
