So I've been on this naked doomed trip recently to see how long I can last with just one colonist. I had one guy who got both types of mechanites at the same time and starved to death. Nasty.

However, this time I opted for a nice seaside vacation spot. I figured sandcastles, beach BBQs and plenty of cold Margueritas. You know how it is... So I'm building things up (the area had a broken geothermal genny so I was set).

Now then, I get the landed ship thing and decided to try for it. I'd just beaten up an ancient danger with the help of a few traders and scored some nifty gear. I set waypoints and find it's not accessible. Most odd. I'd had numerous raids and a few traders. So how in the heck do they manage to get over the mountains that are effectively blocking me in?

At this point I feel socially isolated as I'm playing a starving artist who craves the attention of others. Plus she's pretty hot, and as Willow said in BtVS, I think she's kinda gay.

I'm assuming ocean travel is out of the question without the boats mod?

Not at all.

Gotta get droppods, go to any location that is considered mainland (or at least a route plottable to the location that is blocked off) and just propel yourself forward that way.

I also like this mod. It makes it to where you can actually travel through an impassible terrain location on the world map, as well as settle in a tile that is impassible. It's actually a kind of fun mountain base to create, if you like doing that.
