If your game images are broken -

If you loaded up your game today and all of your images were replaced with a circular pink logo - a mod maker chose to sabatoge her mods. This mod maker is called AliceTries. She added a patch that replaces images in the game with a logo of a chairity. You can remove the patch and resume gameplay without too much fuss.

To fix your game navigate to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\

Search for betterGraphics in the windows browser serach.

Delete any instances of this file.

You will be able to resume gameplay without losing your save file or any further damages.

I know this has been posted as a solution in several threads by awesome players. I just figured I'd make one in general for those of us in panic mode who hit general discussions.

I also highly recommend unsubscribing from any of these mods to prevent further sabatoge in the future.

My personal opinion is that actions like this, no matter the cause or reason severely negatively impact the entire modding community as a whole and quite literally cause complete distrust into a system that took years to develop.

Just another reason I avoid workshop and manually install everything (or download from workshop, transfer files to mod directory, then unsub again). Can't be arsed with idiots like this who want to break my game for their own selfish dumbassery.

no its a fix for an issue from a person named Alice who went ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wonkers. i was her bug fixer for 2 of her mods and she even gave me the firm feminazi shaft with this issue. thanks for posting a fix.

I don't know of a complete list as the modmaker deleted most of their workshop. However, using the method mentioned in my post will give you a 'list' of any you've subscribed to.

Welp, there goes another small piece of my faith in humanity. Just read through most of the debacle, and it's pretty depressing.

As is the fact that I managed to get through the whole thing before Rimworld finished loading my mods so I could reconfigure my mod loadout.

Thank you though OP, and to Lightning for salvaging the mods. Whatever the intentions of the original mod maker, the mods were a quality addition to the game and made long-term colonies a lot more realistic.

If you truly miss some parts of the maker, give rimjobworld a go. It's not on the workshop (so just google) and sort of controversial in many ways but it has a reproductive system etc.

That's all i'll say on the matter and the only time i'll bring it up ever.

Nah, I went for this mod as an alternative to that after looking into it. Realistic though it might be, RJW is the sort of thing I'd rather not download. I'm more interested in colony building potential than brutal realism.

If/when I finally stop procrastinating and start looking into making my own mods, I've got ideas for another alternative. No telling how long that's going to be, though.

Welcome to my life since I unplugged mainstream thinking years ago. Like the Matrix, those that are still plugged in are often just as dangerous as your worst enemy. Friends and family wonder why I don't go to parties full of generic people or try meeting boring strangers they claim to be their friends, and it's because I see stuff exactly like this woman melting down on a weekly basis around where I live. I have seen a particular low-IQ threaten a fast food worker over not having the right sauce for the chicken nuggets. It's just sad.

As for that woman having her fit, there is a reason SJW's are looked down upon in society as a whole. Sad ordeal, glad we got people bypassing her angry selfish implosion and released fixed versions of the mods. Sorta reminds me of what happened to Forged Alliance Forever, the selfish prick in charge tried to delete everything and shut all the servers down. It wasn't for an SJW cause but still, the childish overtones are there. Lots of people took files from their computers to reverse engineer it until he was talked off the ledge and let the community run the project. Over time the project it got better under care of the community and we found out everyone was better off without the guy who was running it like a dictator. Funny thing with FAF is I called out Ze Pilot for his d-baggery at least 2 years before his self-destructive meltdown. I was hated by a good portion of the community for being honest and it was great catharsis when I was proven right after years of not backing down from my stance.

Yeah just before this devolves into a whole lot of politcal back and forth and personal views, this is about One person having a disagreement and a subsequent course of actions resulting in corrupted saves for many people using that person's mods.

This is NOT some feminist plot to destroy all mankind. It's also NOT the standpoint of whatever organization he/she associates him or herself with. It's quite literally One misguided individual with an extremely poorly judged reaction against events that only affected him or her personally.

Just to get that out clearly.
Just this once i'd like to see this sort of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ not spiral out of control into a rabid moshpit.
