Questions about Royalty DLC
first thing first, I got the expansion PIRATED. yes. Not gonna lie. I ALWAYS get games and DLC via pirated stuff. No excuses there, I just don't wanna pay anything and then be dissatisfied with the product.
It happens too often. still happens today. anyway, on to the subject at hands.

While trying out the DLC I noticed a few things and it raised some question.
Situation 1 : the very first quest I received was a 1 star quest with royalty stuff. A mad animal chasing a poor subject of a kingdom. Saved him/her and BOOM. +2 rank.
As I completed some other quest, each time I got +2 rank. Is this normal? Shouldn't it be +1 rank for a 1 star quest? What is the logic behind this? Is my game difficulty the reason it's so easy to grow in rank?

Second situation, still related to the first.
If a 1 star quest is easy (kill a mad squirrel, or hare, or tortoise.) why is every 2 star quest about defending myself against grenade launcher and often in multiple waves? Is this normal? I play with either Chillax or Classic, builder, load anytime. Only once (out of 8 two-star quests) were the enemies wielding knifes and other miscelaneous melee weapons. Still got +2 rank. the knife occasion got me +3 rank instead. Is this kind of difficult combat necessary for a 2 star quest? (for info, these are usually the second and third quest I receive, barely 10 to 20 days since starting).

Third situation, again linked to the first one.
Can I get SOME downtime please? Why are they so mad when I refuse a quest? Not all the time, but often they get super hostile...
Speaking of hostile...

fourth situation.
After a very rough four-star quest (2 months in...) was super happy to have finished because I was starting to panic. I lost two pawns and wasn't too happy about it. The quest ended, I got more ranks and everyone was going back to the hospital bed when suddenly....
The faction "used" in the last quest apparently didn't like the fact I defended myself from their "Pirate raid" and the whole faction appeared at my doorstep, attacking immediatly. I had JUST closed the quest menu and unpaused.
Was this really necessary? could this be avoided?
Instead of three wave of 3-7 enemies, this was a full 8 with rocket launcher, smoke grenade, molotov, gatling, and more. Even with my cheats this was too much. The quest? defend against pirate raid from XYZ faction instead of us. I did so, now XYZ are mad and suddenly jumped 2 tech level. they were already hostile from start. I know I'm just repeating myself, but that's because in two different game, the same thing happened. Was it MY bad? Was this normal?

fifth situation...
You know, about those +2 rank. Comes a point where everyone wants a throne room made of gold, a royal bed made of gold and it has to be in those gigantic rooms of fine flooring with brazier and such. So... here I am, day 12, 2 one-star quest done with one character. No gold in sight anywhere. Can't even trade it yet. And my pawn just goes berserk because he can't have his new swag (I think...?) and proceed to kill 2 others before I could detain him.
Rinse repeat, because as soon as he got left alone in a jail he broke the steel door (I don't even know how, he was unarmed) and proceed to insult everyone until one pawn goes berserk as well and kill him with a machine pistol. yeeaaahhh....
Why does a 0+4 rank want a throne anyway? he's not even considered noble in my book, more like a pissy servant. Shouldn't he be baron at least?
One of the two pawn he killed was his own wife. wtf? Just married too...

There's a few more questions but there's only one I wanna ask.

Are those insane crank in difficulty made for Pirated version or is that the same in the normal DLC?
I know some dev do this for laugh and it's awesome. But I'm a bit of a sissy and I don't want that kind of difficulty in my game, I play on story and builder mode for a reason.
Most of the stuff is pretty interesting and at this point I'm considering buying the DLC. Pirated version is already in the recycle bin, I mean, at the end of the day it's still a pirated version and I actually own the base game. I played the base game again after that to see what had changed.

There have been around 12-13 hotfixes released through Steam since the 1.1 update was made available.

I think we can surmise, just by skimming through your post, that you're getting more than you paid for.

TLDR : dont talk about buying or value, IDC. read last paragraph if you wanna talk about that.

Ban issued for discussion of piracy, remember this is against both steam rules and RimWorld Community Rules.
