As 1.1 broke the best seeds from 1.0, here to ask: anyone find any good seed for map generation in 1.1? Would love some pocket terrain, crossed by river in mountainous place, just like the seed DEVIL 30% in 1.0 did... thx anyway

Yeah, that helps a little... but with seeds the map already come pre-determined, no chance for errors

Seed: interplanetary (all lowercase) 30% coverage

Coordinates: 34.35N 29.97E

Its 2 tiles away from a pirate settlement named Camel Prairie. It is a Mountainous tile and contains granite and sandstone. 30 day growing season. Temperate Forest. No river though.

At the bottom left part of the map is a valley and in that valley are 2 steam geysers very close to one another. If you want to make a mountain base this would be an easily defensible position. With a good amount of open soil to plant a farm if you so wish.

Or if you want an open base there is a very large mass of rich soil in the very middle of the map. The western flank should be safe from assault so you only have to worry about the north, south or east as directions that need to be defended.

thanks for sharing these seeds, I think I might do some seed hunting later, but for now just wanted to say all 3 of those seeds shared do look like good sites for bases. unfortunately, factions and their settlements are locally generated by everyone's individual computer I think, but since roads are not, they tend to get generated in some of the same places. it is the rough outlander union that has a settlement 2 tiles away on KalkiKrosah's seed for me... I think if I settle on one of these seeds for a game it would be Bartkiro's seed, only because for me it has nearby settlements to trade with and the other two don't.

hard to say, two guesses I have
1) you have a mod that changes seed generation
2) you forgot to capitalize the B in Bartkiro

ok, this seed looks pretty good, pocket of rich soil with a steam vent with river on one side and mountain around. rock is marble and sandstone.

ok, found another seed that looks interesting. I don't personally like this one as much as the last one I found, but it at least has more space outside the mountain for a bigger base. smaller river and less rich soil though, and harder to take advantage of the river but still doable.
