Automatic cooler/heater
Any way to have my coolers and heaters turn it on and off with certain temperatures? It's a pain in the ass selecting all the different items. I can't double click because there is my fridge in the middle. Also can't use a single switch because there is other stuff like lamps in the middle

Coolers and heaters will automatically enter a low-power mode when the target temperature has been exceeded.

Low powered still consume electricity i guess. How much for like 20 heaters? :D

Yes they consume a small amount of power while on low because they need their sensors to know when to turn back on again.

There are mods that do that.

20 heaters would be 200 power. Why so many though? You not using vents or in a very cold biome?

Go for the Centrilized climate control, so you don't need to build heater/cooler for every room. It still takes a lot of energy, but you only need to turn one or two things on and off

Have a stone walled room in middle of your base and one less than useful pawn (incapable of everything but hunting) fire a molotov/incendiary in there constantly (a crafting spot as target). Free-ish heat.

Even on icesheets you will never need 20.

Why 20 though ? Also you can use this in the future for smart selecting, quick select all kinds of X, etc etc

you can double clik thou, just do so and shift click the ones in your freezer to unselect them.

even cheaper is to make the heaters coolers ramp up and down... so more heters go in hig power mode when the temp sink to coldsnap levels.
so say you wanne have it around 20c
put heater up to 15c 10c and you AC's to 25c 30c

so as soon a heat waves make the base 28c some acs will jump on. might it become more extreem like 35c then all you ac's will be powering on.
(your heater will be on stand by in the is time. and you have to find a sweet spot for howmany ac and heaters your base needs.)

for a 9x9 room you only need 1, if it's -20 or lower outside, you may need 2 to keep temp over 16-17, but other than that, only a few heaters are more than enough even in a large base, but even 20 isn't that much...if 200 energy is hard for you to keep them on standby, then you should rather plant 1-2 extra solar panels, then cry for easier solution, than turning them of one by one, because your colony' main problem isn't that 200 energy, but a bad management overall.

If you can't survive through 2 solar eclipses right after each other, then you will have energy problems, you must always be prepared for emergency, if your daily life consumption is so hard to keep up, you realy should reconfigure your base management.
It's not like getting a few extra components and steel is that hard.
